I wept. That was a challenging time for us. FIL had a debilitating stroke, wife had been unceremoniously released as a Children's Minister, we were living in a hotel as water lines in foundation of home were being replaced and my future was uncertain as my employer was undergoing a consolidation....
And then this wonderful gift of The Walk Off comes to pass and for a moment all seemed right.. I hooped and hollered so much my wife thought I was being assaulted

wife and family was in a hotel in Kentucky and 20 people came out to the balcony and went crazy

I'm reposting the story I've told before - this is as true as my memory can make it - word for word:
I was in the car heading home from Metro Ryan at the end of national guard annual training. I think I heard 1 or 2 batters before Morris. I had a troop giving us live updates while we were all waiting for rides.
I told Mrs. Midnight, "Warren is an All American, but broke his wrist, I think for the Olympic trials, and hasn't been right all year." Hawthorne commented at that point that he hadn't hit a home run all season. I turned to Mrs. Midnight and said, "He's due."

That was a fantastic moment.
