Hi, used to love the Caterie. $0.75 Milwaukee's Beast PITCHERS.
Glad to have the series with y'all and just my perspective here. Seems like this board thinks that most Texas fans are overconfident. I disagree entirely. Most every Texas fan I know would be your normal homer optimist but realistically very concerned here.
We have 1 real running back with a converted freshman QB and a converted freshman LB as our 2/3 RB. One of our corners looked awful in the opener. We gave up a ton of yardage and didn't apply pressure.
From what I've heard about you guys trying to filter out the BS. Suspect OL. Not a huge running threat. Breaking in a new offense.
On a positive note for Texas. Herman seems to play to the level of the competition which is why he seems to have WTF games every year. While everyone wants to write off the Georgia game it definitely has the team thinking they can play with SEC athletes in an underdog role whether we think it's been overemphasized or not. While it's apparently insulting to you, your offense is similar to what the 'horns face in conference play albeit with better athletes.
If Texas didn't intentionally guard it's defensive playbook in game 1 and are incapable of applying pressure then LSU should win rather handily. If we can, I think Vegas had it right when it opened with LSU at 4 point favorite and this is a close game.
Good luck.
I know you guys don't care and your arch rival is Texas A&M but I'm excited for this one :)

Actually appreciate when an opposing fan comes to our site and gives an honest, objective opinion. Feeling cautiously optimistic about this game. Can’t wait.

This was an alright post and a fairly reasonable, albeit hopeful, perspective from a Texas fan ... right up until he crapped the bed with that A&M comment at the end. Seriously, man.

Much better athletes, and the horns get torched against other conference teams.

Yeah being on the road is going to be tough. If Tom Herman wasnt your coach id say yall have a better chance, but Coach O is coaching with a chip on his shoulder. That's a scary thing for opposing teams

Our starting OL is solid. Very capable. Problems come with communication or lack of. If they get their blocking assignments down (on passing downs) there will be no issues on the OL. UT will win a few of those battles especially through stunts and blitzes. The best way to beat LSU tackles is with quickness. But the main difference with LSU this year is we have a QB that recognizes and reads defenses well. Burrow will be getting rid of the ball quickly and has more check down options in the new Joe Brady scheme.
I believe a lot of negativity surrounding the OL comes from recruiting. It seems every year we have an abundance of riches at the skilled positions but land only one or two quality o-linemen.
