This how LSU and Texas have finished the last four years in recruiting according to 247 Sports:

2016 LSU 2 ____ Texas 7
2017 LSU 7 ____ Texas 25
2018 LSU 15 ____ Texas 3
2019 LSU 5 ____ Texas 3

LSU Avg. last four years 7.25
Texas Avg. last four years 9.5

These rankings do not take into account the addition or loss of players through the transfer portal. Sometimes theses additions or losses have a large impact depending on the player. For example adding Joe Burrow has had a massive positive impact on this Tiger team and that is not reflected in recruiting rankings. (Cole Tracy last year is another good example.) Texas also lost Mike Williams to us but that has no impact this game given the fact that Mike Williams is ineligible this year.

Can you imagine if LSU had a HC with that powerful of an ability to recruit?

We'd be unstoppable.

If you’re going to look at 247 why not just use the team talent composite?

LSU #5 - 906.17
Texas #7 - 877.91
Aggy #12 - 847.15 (because why not?)

The majority of posters on this board truly have no idea what is going on outside of LSU. It brings a good laugh when they try to talk about other programs.

I don’t think anybody doubts that. I do however think experience is just as important. A seasoned 3 star is every bit as good as a young 4 star and vice versa with 4 and 5 stars when you talk about offensive and defensive fronts. I think exp is why we. Win the game

Yep, been telling people that UT has top ten talent. They could definitely make a game of it.

Okay, just for you:

2016 LSU 295.03 ____ Texas 280.16
2017 LSU 287.66 ____ Texas 217.76
2018 LSU 254.58 ____ Texas 300.06
2019 LSU 284.06 ____ Texas 287.69

LSU Avg. last four years 280.33
Texas Avg. last four years 271.42

Okay, just curious. Does this tell you anything differently than just using rankings like I did in the OP?

The best recruiting job done by Coach O last year was his ability to convince many juniors to stay and play for their Sr. year. Under Miles junior attrition to the NFL was a MAJOR problem. Last spring was the first time in a long time that LSU did not have a mass exodus of juniors.

I agree. But I am relying on the lack of talent or depth at RB and CB to really be UT's achilles heel whereas LSU at the moment has nice depth everywhere.

I fully expect Aranda to take advantage of the inexperience at RB using stunts and different blitz packages. Will they be able block the LSU defenders Aranda throws that them? This will force Ehlinger to roll out more and that just plays right into our strengths (DB and LB).

I fully expect Joe Brady and Burrow to take advantage of the talent disparity between our WRs and their DBs.

They match us well on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball IMO but that can be overcome by attacking their weaknesses mentioned above.

LSU's OL is about the same as ut's DL

I'm calling push here. UT does have a talented OL.

I disagree. La Tech put up 340 yards passing on them last weekend?
