Tennessee not throwing their ace.

It will be interesting to see if CJJ saves Hilliard for tomorrow.

Fine. Vandy is 5 in RPI. Let's beat Vandy by 10 runs again in the winner's bracket game.

Frankly, they should not be throwing their ace tomorrow either. They have nothing to play for.

If we want a chance to host a regional we cannot lose to Kentucky. Tennessee is a top 8 seed either way. Not really comparable situations.

They have 3-4 guys who are aces, not sure that it matters who they throw which game

They really do, but Dollander has been their best. 90ks in 62 innings, 8-0 & 2.30 ERA.

Our luck would be that we lose tonight and the tournament decides to do single elimination tomorrow morning

They’re throwing the guy that was supposed to be their Friday night guy until he was put on the shelf with injury. He’s as much of their ace as any of the other three starters they have.
They have their supposed to be Friday guy, a sophomore
Their actual Friday guy, a freshman
Their Saturday guy, conference pitcher of the year
And their Sunday guy, conference freshman of the year
It doesn’t matter who they start.
ETA: they also have their mid week starter that’s been really good in short starts and is left handed. But I see no circumstances that he gets a start this weekend.

Luckily that would mean we would be 0-2

Vandy is going to get run ruled & Corbin is going to have a mental breakdown
I can say with certainty that if Tennessee gets the chance to run up the score, and do it in a way that would push Corbin toward a breakdown, they’ll do it.

I know we absolutely need to beat Kentucky but I would love to see Hilliard against Tennessee.

I hope not. We have to win at least 1. Hilliard needs to have a good outing and go 6 or 7. We can’t blow our bullpen first game with taking a chance on whoever else he may throw
Kentucky is a dangerous team…. Sometimes.
