He will be making more money at LSU than Sean Payton’s top offensive assistant Carmichael...

According to Nessler in an interview on Eisen’s show, based on conversations with Ensminger, it was Ensminger who actually suggested to Coach O that Brady be hired. Ensminger met with the Saints offensive staff to talk offenses, and that is where the idea came from. I think Ensminger deserves some real credit for bringing Brady on board, for his lack of ego, and his willingness to do what it takes to help LSU be successful. I have no doubt that he is really enjoying the situation, as he should.

Next season. Will have job offers doubling his salary from other places next season. Plus, with the dropoff in QB play that will ensue next season for LSU, his stock may drop considerably if he stays.

A. Money.
B. He is set up to keep having success and getting great offers while here.
C. If he wants a college gig, he has to prove himself as a recruiter. He will be learning from one of the best here. This is a HUGE point in our favor.

If Brady has half a brain, which I am sure he does, he wants no part of running a program, and I dont think many would pay him what we are paying him with his new deal.

He has a whole lot to learn. Wasn't it O that said that last year he wasn't even full time with the Saints? Brady landed on a gold mine right here, if he continues his success and development he will name his price and place, but IMO that is a few years away and he would do himself a huge disservice to his future earning potential to jump ship prematurely.

LSU is 5th in total coaches salaries among NCAA football teams and the only reason is O accepting a smaller salary to pay Aranda crazy money. If LSU wins the natty and O gets average of top 5 money, plus we pay Brady $1.5-2m, then we will be top 3 combined salary with Clemson and Bama. If that happens O will be making around $7.5m per year and be deserving of turning LSU around after Les Miles final years. He would also be making more than Gus Malzahn ($6.8m) and about the same as Jimbo Fisher ($7.5m).

Wait a minute. You're thinking about this all wrong. Orgeron's salary should not be adjusted up to the top 5 average. That's a false equation. The real equation is total staff salary should be adjusted to top 5 average if we win it all.

Orgeron's pitch was that you can pay me less and use the extra to buy top-notch coordinators. That hasn't changed. Orgeron cannot take the defense, or the offense, and make it go with run-of-the-mill coaches. Therefore, his salary should be $7.5 million MINUS the excess we're paying for Aranda and Brady. So maybe $5.5 million.

One would think that those doing the hiring elsewhere have seen similar scenarios before. So far, Joe Brady + Joe Burrow + Top tier Receivers has equaled a perfect storm. A world class chef doesn't show up with a can of Chef Boyardee. What happened to Matt Canada?

If he leaves for a HC job, what staff is he bringing? Can he evaluate staff? Can he recruit? Can he hold a program down?

He needs to pick up some more skills besides his offensive prowess, or he’ll wind up being like Lane Kiffin. Now, he might be a home run right off the bat, but there’s no guarantee, and he could have a major setback if things don’t go properly.

I think he should stay as a coordinator, and if he has a chance to leave for the pros and takes it, so be it. Not much we can do.

i can't speak for anyone else, but I sure as hell don't want any coach, position, coordinator, whatever...on LSU's staff if they ever felt they should leave because of perceived "dropoff" in talent or skills. If anything, that should drive them more to coach up a player who has underachieved.

Money, education, experience, and a chance to leverage himself into a good HC position.

Experience and knowledge. He’s still very young. He’s very good but he’s never been a coordinator or a head coach. The same reason why Teddy Bridgewater has stated he wants to remain at the Saints working under Drew Brees; because he wants to learn how Drew Brees prepares himself for games. Same with Brady ! Brady is in a perfect situation to mentor under Steve Ensminger at LSU until he’s ready. Furthermore, it’s likely that his contract length is no coincidence either. 4 years would seem about right for Ensminger to wrap up his career and Brady would assume the OC role. The dude is 30 yrs old. What’s the rush. He’s gonna get his money and he’s gonna get the keys to the Ferrari when it’s time. He’s already in the booth calling plays. What’s not to like?

People are always asking why Aranda doesn’t take a head coaching job. Being a head coach is 180 degrees polar opposite of being an Offensive Coordinator. Just because your a good OC doesn’t necessarily translate into being a head coach. A head coach is an operations manager; not a position coach or coordinator. It’s a completely different job. I think Brady would be wise to make sure he learns all of the ropes before he makes a move. LSU is affording him that luxury. For now, I think he’s smart to stay.

Bull shite. Without Brady coming and implementing this scheme we aren’t undefeated and number 1 in the nation right now.
