Never heard of him. Maybe that's why he is transferring.

This was expected and 247 said this gets us to 85. I was under the impression we still had more to cut

We need to start a dead pool. Who will enter tomorrow? Get your picks in now.

My money is on Cameron Lewis. Very talented guy but can’t seem to get on the field.

They might be counting Drake Davis and Layton Garnett. Not sure if Davis should count. I thought we had to process 9.

So he can only catch and not block?? Is that why he 'processed' by the staff?

Garrett was not on scholarship. Preferred walk on

I would guess it would depend on what happens with Ingram and Taylor

If all of these players leaving is so called "Processing", then he better hope by August 1st, he's not below 85 scholarships. Otherwise, he asked one too many to leave. No excuse being below 85 especially if some didn't want to leave. Look at the attrition before the bowl game. I counted 21 players who didn't play in the bowl game bc of injuries, transferring, discipline issues, or just not wanting to play. You need all hands on deck. Also, for 2020 we are looking pretty thin at certain positions if some juniors dont come back. Coach O better hope he can land some transfers or a lot of freshmen will be playing. That's not good

WE are fine for 2020. In fact, we will likely be 4 or 5 over the limit next year barring the unusual. Although it seems rather usual that something "unusual" happens.

That was my point, that perhaps they looked at the number of kids in the portal without checking for scholarships.

This is also why you dont process kids in March. Wait til the summer just in case some stuff happens like the past few years: transfers, discipline problems, just quitting football. This isn't the NFL where if a player is cut you can pick up someone else. You can only add 25 per year.

I have no doubt LSU will be well below 85 by fall.

Once you get below 85, you are able to give scholarships to some of the walk-ons that deserve them, like the kicker Atkins for example.
