Tate & LSU Mascot

Some comments have been made about Tate and possible change of LSU’s Tiger Mascot. I don’t know where this question comes from but Tate comes from the University of South Carolina as a Provost. The Gamecock Mascot at that University has Civil War origins as well as it is derived from the nickname of a South Carolina General known as the Carolina Gamecock. I do believe that South Carolina is still known as the “Gamecocks”.
I don’t know how Tate will do at LSU but I am giving him an opportunity to show what he can do.

He better leave the Tiger mascot name and image alone. LSU being name the tigers doesn’t affect my everyday life leave the freaking name alone. I’m against this type of shite

Judging by the man's politics and friends, him trying to change the schools mascot because of ties to a confederate battalion doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility. People like him have changed the names of buildings, streets....removed statues and preach that all white people are inherently racist. There is no direct evidence of him wanting to do away with "Fighting Tigers", but that kind of thing IS right up his alley.

Have you listened to anything the man has said during his extensive public discussions with the LSU community by the way? Or are you making assumptions based on what other people who also haven’t listened to him have said?
