I know it is Germans, but can someone tell me approximately how many TAF points it takes to get football season tickets for each level. Ex: what would be the minimal number of points to get 2 upper deck tickets, 2 endzone tickets, and 2 chairback seats? Thanks

You will probably need to call TAF. Anything you get here will just be speculation. It's hard to tell anything now because we don't know how many people will not be renewing due to last season or struggling with layoffs & the economy.

Definitely speculation here. Am I the only one who thinks that LSU football is somewhat recession-proof. I doubt many are going to let their season tickets go that wouldn't have otherwise. Maybe some corporations and law firms won't be donating too much beyond their standard fee.

Your goal should be to get in the top 4000 or so TAF rankings, and you'll get a call from the ticket office most likely. I don't recall the exact numbers from last year, but if I rememeber they called all the way down to about 5500 or so.

I know a lot of companies are getting rid of their suites and things like tickets for all sporting events. My company is not renewing on Saints or Hornets suites this year and they have had them for a long time. I dont know how this would affect Jo Blow seats though.

If you weren't in the top 1500 last year, then you had no chance of getting any season tickets.

It probably won't be quite as difficult for 2009, but it won't be drastically different.

If you are joining TAF to get football tickets, stop. It would be much cheaper for you and you would get better tickets if you just bought them on the open market.

The bottom end of the points has been muddled in the past several years. Coming in to try to "catch up" will be expensive because of the need to overcome yearly loyalty points with money. If your tickets are through the LSU athletic department, I would inquire with them first to see what they say. LSU still distributes West Upper Deck tickets which become open more often than others.

I know several companies (all construction) that are giving up Stadium Club tickets because they are hurting. The economy is still ok here, so I don't think there will be a big effect this year. Next year may be different. If oil does not rebound, there will be some major cuts in government which will have a ripple effect in the BR economy. I am not saying LSU will have a problem selling almost all of the season tickets, but I do think they will be more available.

You don't recall very well. Last year, the cut off was around 1500. In 2007, the cut off was closer to 5500-6000.

I was on the TAF website a couple weeks ago and I saw the cutoff numbers for 07 and 08. Now I cant find it on the website. I will keep looking and will post it if I find it. I do know it was close to what medtiger posted. In 08 the cutoff was a lot lower number (higher ranking) because of the National Championship in 07 and current season ticket holders requesting more tickets.

exactly...LSU says this on the season ticket waiting list web page...

last year was post national championship with major expectations for this year too, so that was probably worst cast....but even 2,000 or 3,000 out of 10,000 taf members is unreachable through any normal donations....

we'll have to have a few bad years in a row (last year was not bad) coupled with disasterous economic conditions before the average person will be able to get tickets again....

It is hard to catch up because of loyalty points, but the best deal is do the minimum donation to TAF to get what you want and then donate to a philanthropy, points are double there.

TAF points system is Greek to me. The way they credit donations etc, when I read the statement it makes my head hurt.
