I say True.

People talk about the talent gap on the lines being why Burrow didn’t have time to throw, and it’s certainly true that we were outmatched there, but will that ever be different?

Have we ever had an offensive line that could dominate the kind of D-line talent that Bama has year in and year out now?
Are we just missing out on big time recruits that could turn the tide, so to speak?

My perception is that Louisiana doesn’t produce those guys, and that we have always had trouble recruiting them.

During Sabans tenure here, yes.

He is a talent wiz......and he recruits big athletes versus big heavy/overweight kids (Cody not withstanding).

False, we have one now. Dumbasses just don't know how to develop a modern-day offense.

False, show me an NFL line that is all 5*'s. Stars aren't everything.

I know they were good, but I don’t know that they would look that good against current Bama.

Whitworth, Livings, and Niswanger, at least, were from Louisiana and all born about the same time. Was that an aberration for Louisiana to produce three NFL o-linemen in a year?

If a 5* NFL caliber O Line was the answer to football, Stanford and Wisconsin would be winning everything there is to win.

Half of the plays in football are designed to overcompensate for your O Line being outmatched in a game... we apparently only use the other half.

Well, they missed on him then.

“5*” was just shorthand for very good defensive linemen. I don’t see us being able to base our scheme around us having o-linemen that can line up with them and push them around.

Correct. Rosenthal was ranked the #1 OT before switching to a defensive line prospect, Kardell is coming in as he #1 OG, Deculus was a very highly rated OT. We had a great OL haul last year and have one this current cycle. If these guys are coached appropriately, they should be able to hang next year or the year following (I know, this has nothing to do with the game this past weekend) I do not think it’s talent. I think it’s S&C and scheme. If we run the same offense with all five stars in a year or two, it still wouldn’t matter. The results will be the same.

We should be able to have comparable offensive lines, if not better than.. Ole Miss, a&m, Auburn.. These teams seem to score and beat Alabama every now and then.

Even Tennessee and Arkansas found ways to move the ball on them.

Is it too much to ask that LSU actually scores some points? Seems like all these teams score at least 20 on Alabama. It can't be as simple as we don't have the linemen to matchup. I honestly don't think another 5 star lineman or two would have made much of a difference. Our offense seems straight up cursed vs Alabama until some sort of culture change happens IMO.
