T Green has Bowers/Pitts like potential, maybe Pimpton saw writing on wall?

Sucks, but I kinda get it. ESP since we could easily utilize two TE sets and deploy both effectively.

Maybe he just really wanted to be TE1, knew that wasn’t happening w Green here.

I don't know what he saw. He could have been very productive as well here.

Pimpton played behind him all year, and they added another TE who Pimpton would not play ahead of on top of that. Of course he saw the writing on the wall.

T Green looked amazing last night. Let's cool down a bit until we name him the next great TE. If he can successfully replace M Taylor, well then we all be really really happy.

Identical profiles and Green had a step or two on him, I don’t blame Pimpton for going home.

Pimpton should be regretting his decision. Those guys could be on the field at the same time.

He’s a rising junior and wasn’t in the two deep entering 2025, so ya

FWIW I really liked Pimpton. Especially as a vertical seam threat. He was physical after the catch. Just wanted a change of scenery

I like Green. He was terrific on pass plays. I think he's a big threat all over the field and particularly in the red zone.

His blocking, however, needs a lot of work.

The question with Green will remain can he be a traditional inline TE and block from that spot, last night he struggled there still despite finally seeing a lot of action from the inline spot. He's still a bit light in the pants though (listed 6'7 245, I'd be surprised if he was much over 225-230 right now, pretty slender guy for a guy his height).

Green has always been abig time receiving threat no matter where you line him up. Pimpton could have easily carved out a role as a blocker as he does have the size to do that but he was never a very willing blocker as an inline TE himself. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a more traditional TE who can get on the OL and block a DE/LB for you these days.

I think Green has a long ways to go to become an all around TE who can block (he was simply awful blocking all year) but he's hard to keep off the field with his receiving threat. He will only get better as he plays more football and gets bigger though, football overall is still very new to him. Think this was his 4th year of organized football.

He's going to be a matchup problem for every team on our schedule next year just because of his size and athleticism combination. I can't understand why we didn't see more of him this year unless he just wasn't mentally prepared yet.

He’s a little lean for blocking but shows he is willing to try and that’s as important as anything.

let him continue to physically develope.

He’s a really exciting prospect even if he’s never an elite blocker.

Just found this on Twitter…don’t think there are too many 6’7 245# football players with this kind of athleticism. Clip is from AAU ball

Pimpton wasn’t really any better in that regard, which is part of the reason we didn’t run a ton of 2 and 3 TE sets outside of short yardage plays. Then Bordelon got some of those blocking TE snaps after the first bye week.

Green is just a better version of what Pimpton is.

He’s already better than Taylor

I’ll get downvoted but it’s the truth

Taylor started as a freshman and rightfully so but he had no competition either

If green walked into the situation Taylor did he would’ve started day 1

Both are good TEs but Green will be the better TE in the NFL and his last 2 years at LSU

Im not cooling down shite. Barring injury, Green is the next elite TE draft pick in 2 years.

In one start at TE, 6 rec 53 yards 2 TDs, and made it look easy. Four TDs in extremely limited reps. Taylor had 24 starts over the last 2 years and had 3 total TDs. Taylor is a possible pro bowl level TE too.
