Isn't there some kind of bidding process? FSU is about to win. If the unthinkable happens and Southern Miss advances, that's two 3-seeds. I assume that each school would bid for the right to host.

Yes. Both schools would submit a bid the night the super is finalized if they wanted to host. The NCAA would choose whichever they think would make them more money the next day.
