ensminger needs to go at the end of this year he has one year left on his contract.linehan needs to take over playcalling he has better pro spread calling because he has the same plycalling as Sean payton

We weren’t being conservative at all with Brennan, yes we have gone somewhat conservative, but do we really want to put the whole game in the hands of a true freshman QB? Even if he is talented?

I'm not a huge E guy, but this thread is dumb. The game plan for Arky was actually pretty decent considering we have a true freshman calling the plays.

Brennan was making strides as he gained experience. If he hadn't been hurt and we went with this same game plan, then maybe you make this thread.

linehan knows how to use these players better than ensminger. You can tell when he and linehan are calling plays.ensminger Is very conservative and linehan calls a big play offense and he like the passing game mixed up with the running game

The game plan was fine against Arkansas. The defense, once again, was terrible at giving up big plays.

the conservative play calling has a lot to do with trying to keep the defense off the field.....run the ball more and run the clock is what they did against Arkansas

In the first 3 games with Brennan we were throwing 43 times per game. Honestly the issue wasn't conservative, it was balance and rhythm of play calling. Not using runs to set up play action and not using enough RB routes and WR screens to open the deep and intermediate routes.

True freshman QB, combined with the a fact they have the top pass D but worse rush D in the SEC, also combined with the fact they were down d linemen, not trying to run the ball a lot against them would have been foolish.

We ran 90 plays but only scored 27 points. The game shouldn't have been as close as it was.

That said, I'm glad to get the win.

His strength is playcalling—he needs an innovative assistant to help out with game planning

The gameplan was solid. Wear down undermanned Arkansas. Would have liked more scores, but that was a just-win-baby-win game.

if anything, linehan is the boat anchor around the offense's neck.

i don't mind slinger sticking around until they get their young mind that's willing to stay and take over, but i'm not sure how long he wants to continue.

this last couple of years has probably made for an awesome, padded retirement check, and i think O and Co thought they maybe could hold onto brady and have him swap seats with Steve this year.

The same people complaining about conservative play calling are probably the same ones screaming in ‘08 when the kept letting an experience QB throw pick six after pick six.

The game plan Saturday was good for this team. It both hides the fact your QB is talented but inexperienced as well keeps your defense on the sidelines. The best defense LSU has right now is their offense holding onto the ball.

Russ Callaway. I'm going to keep banging this drum. We have him on staff and if O lets him slip away and doesn't promote him I'll be pissed. E's contract is up in the spring. Perfect time for a smooth transition.

The conservative game plan was a direct result of playing with a true fresh backup QB on the road. And it worked.

Style points are out the window. Need to win games

Holy mother of God ,dude you have no clue what you're talking about.
First of all,we already know who calls what plays and it's not based on what you said.
Linehan calls redzone and 3rd down, which is where we struggle the most this year.

They make the gameplans together, the offense is called completely different for tj be cause hes young and lacks accuracy.
He has to have the run game to be successful.
The two games we won with Finley were because of the playcalling and running game.
The game where they took the training wheels off and let him rip was the horrific Auburn game. When we can run it ,we win,I
When we dont we lose . Coach ensminger and matt Canada for one year are 25-1 when a running back has over 100 yards

Isnt Munoz the oc at baylor? Not that they are as talented as us but, Baylor's offense is as bad as our defense based on stats. Our offense is way better then theres .
If you look at coach es stats at lsu as of, they have been great and even better after the switch to the offense that joe brady designed ,I'm sure ensminger knows how to call plays and I'm sure he helped on some of the installation last year but mainly joe brady.

Baylor offense is ranked 114th in the nation. LSU is ranked 28th and 1st last year.

I hear about russ calaway, where was his last oc job

E can't make the linemen not hold costing us about 60 yards and forcing punts.
