Kid outgrew position or not enough talented kids playing the position?

Probably a combination of both? Either way, he’s an absolute matchup nightmare if we use him the right way

Kid is up to around 240 pounds to 250 pound range . I like it a TE that can really run. First thing I thought about was the Moss kid , not sure why.

Probably both.

He’s huge.

I hipe This doesn’t mean Pettigrew isn’t progressing.

This only works if he can be respectable blocking, if can’t block he’ll get treated like another WR.

He's still a WR basically, they are just using him as an NFL style FLEX TE (Gronk style) instead of the traditional in-line TE we've been used to seeing here.

His hand isn't going in the dirt.

Hopefully he plays like a Jimmy Graham circa 2011 type

I'm not sure the distinction really matters. He lined up as a tight end in several games last year I believe, and worked there in the spring. No matter what you call him he's going to be a big eligible receiver that can also block.

Yeah this is a good way to get him on the field more and a sign that the young WRs are ready.

Who was that big WR turned TE (I think) that ran that trick play against Bama down the sideline to about the 2 yard line a few years back?

TE doesn’t mean what it meant 15yrs ago. Sullivan, it appears, is basically a hybrid WR/TE. Sometimes he will lineup near the OT, sometimes out wide.

Now that LSU will have a replica of the Saints offense with Joe Brady at the helm, I don't see why we can't expect just that.

Historically, LSU has had some WRs who were not only willing to block, but enjoyed it and were good at it. Clayton, LaFell, Landry and others could light people up.
If Sullivan had some of that same desire and ability he would be great at TE.
we haven't seen much in the way of strong downfield blocking by our WR's in 3-4 yrs.

Dwayne Bowe took out two Arky defenders in Little Rock on a long gain IIRC.

I liked Bowe as a blocker, but he wasn't always head hunting like Clayton and Lafell.

I think Brady is looking for a more athletic option at TE
