This is from part one, but it got me fired up this morning...

It’s amazing. Is LSU ready for it (a pass heavy offense)? Hell, I don’t know if the state of Louisiana is ready for it. The strength of our offense right now is our wide receivers, and we’re going to get the ball to them. So it’s going to be throw first, run when they give it to you.

I got to talk to him recently while traveling. I didn’t ask any questions about personnel development or depth charts because I wouldn’t get an honest answer. But I asked questions about schemes and overall mindset and he was very happy to talk about it. I don’t think he wanted to get into specifics of our current team but he has a lot of memories of previous teams he has been with on things that worked well or didn’t work and has a great vision. I enjoyed talking to him and think he can lead a solid offense if we can get the right pieces to the puzzle and overcome injuries.

I come to the Rant for this type of information! Can we please stop the negative comments!

New Tiger fan here, still learning about the team and its players, but after reading what Ensminger said and looking at tight end Foster Moreau’s history, I’m thinking that he could become one of Burrow’s favored targets, and might more than double his receiving yardage this year, going from 181 yards last year to 400 or so. Does that sound right to all of you who know the team better?
Burreaux to Moreaux geaux for another TD sounds like a catchy phrase to me!

but yes, I think Moreau can do well this season. he's only scratched the surface of what he can be. the TEs as a whole should benefit. can't wait for the season.

He has had numerous meetings with some of the top offensive minds in the country including the likes of Sean Payton and Pete Carroll.

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SCHEDULE?!?!
Posted on 7/12/18 at 11:14 am to Tiger Ree
Flexibility and a plan, two things we haven't had together at once on this team in a loooooooong time, at least offensively.

Erik Zeier ain't walking through that door...

He seems to have a lot of Hodson memories. Hopefully he can tailor those to our actual current skill set.

He said things he look for in a QB is that he’s accurate and is a football junkie. In an interview posted here like two weeks ago he stated that Joe has those same qualities which lead me to believe he’s the guy

I just hope we hear "[Quarterback] to Foster Moreau for another first down!" a lot this year. Miles' put LSU way behind the times when it comes to TE play.

No I don’t want him to tailor those to our current skill set
If he is truly starting from scratch why not do just that? I understand borrowing concepts but if you haven’t schemed an offense in 20 years but you have 4 talented QBs at your disposal why not play to their strengths

Propaganda aside. I enjoy not knowing what this offense is going to be like. Its a little scary, but kind of entertaining.
You can really use that to your advantage. What other school can say that their OC is completely unpredictable going into the season because they haven't had their own offense in 20 years?
ETA - I freaking despise the Jet Sweep in the SEC.

Agreed. Besides, we would need a bald headed white guy who runs like a ghost? (Sammy Martin)

He's not alone in that, there are lots of coaches who just use the TE for blocking and only a rare change of pace when passing. Meyer is one them.

It serves it's purpose when used correctly. It makes the linebackers have to be honest with their assignment and not trying to cheat one way or another. That being said, I only like it when used as an occasional tool. I do not like it as a staple of your offense like Canada was using it.

Me too !!!
Youtube DJ Chark 79-yard touchdown run in 2015 Texas Bowl
Took a handoff on an end around in the Texas Bowl against Texas Tech and carried it 79 yards for a touchdown ... That play was his first time in his LSU career that he touched the football.

During Ensminger’s time as the OC in 2016, I was really impressed with his in game playcalling. He had to keep the game plan simple because it was mostly Cam Cameron’s playbook the offense knew. Now that he has had a whole offseason to put in HIS scheme and philosophy I’m excited to see the product. Good OC’s are creative and have good schemes, but GREAT OC’s are good “PLAYCALLERS”. I think Ensminger has that trait.
