I’d be shocked if he didn’t at least play in his 4 “free” games in some capacity. Best to learn from the Nuss situation from last year, though, and save them (if possible) till the end of the year just in case. But there’s a couple realistic scenarios where he is starting meaningful SEC games at some point.

We are really, really thin at all the skill positions. Very talented at the top (and basically the whole WR corps—all 6 of them), but super light on sheer numbers. We’re gonna need some injury luck to survive the gauntlet of a schedule that are the last 8 games.

Howard will play spot duty in 4 games, but use this year as a redshirt.

I totally agree. The SEC schedule will be brutal for LSU this year. My opinion, they decided against using miles B/C they can’t protect him anyway. Someone more suited to running for their lives is the choice. We’ll get some good plays out of either Nuss or Daniels but neither are half of what Mahomes was at improvising in college ball. He was the last QB in college that was consistently making something from nothing.
