Jury is still out on Trent Johnson. However, losses to Nicholls and Coastal Caronlina have to raise a few red flags even for the die-hards. They were very fortunate to beat Central Michigan on Saturday night. Alleva is from Duke, and made this hire. You would think he knew who the good coaches were when TJ was hired. I'm starting to have doubts, but I'm willing to give the coach this season to start showing some steady improvement.

It seemed like Brady could never get a decent point guard, for whatever reason. So, even our good teams, weren't complete teams.

Except he had two good ones in Bright, and Tack Minor, and both didn't improve at all (or probably regressed) in the time they were here.

Tack was a great prospect, but Brady couldn't seem to rein him in. Was Torris a true point, or more of a 2 guard playing the point? My memory is a little fuzzy on that.

Of the some odd 6800 tickets that were sold for "Geographical" Carolina....., less than 3000 have bothered to show up for the game. How do you expect these young kids to get up for a game when they don't really see crowd support. The people that do show up, Thank you. The people that can't show up because of legitimate reasons, unfortunate. The people that just don't care to use their tickets, shame on you. These kids are young and need time to develop. Show up, yell and cheer them on... they need the help and support. We still can win big in the SEC, and that's all we really need.

Not to beat a dead horse but this article really puts in into perspective...

Coastal Carolina picked up 28 victories a season ago, but Chad Gray felt that nothing topped what took place against LSU on Monday night.

The Chanticleers knocked off their first BCS conference opponent in 17 seasons with a 78-69 overtime victory against the Tigers.

Coastal Carolina’s last victory over a BCS conference team was an 88-74 decision at South Carolina on Dec. 11, 1993.

This is bigger than any win last year because this is an SEC opponent,” said Gray, who made two 3-pointers in the overtime period. “The SEC is one of the power conferences. Our guys all felt confident. We thought we could come in here and win.”

No not really. I realize, like most of your posts, are just trying to troll, but there really isn't anything substantive that you could say that would point to your statement being true on any level.

This is the shite that is tough to read on this board. You are utterly devoid of a clue aren't you? It would take two seconds to google our recruiting class for next year, read it, then post. But nope, just easier to make blanket statements about shite you don't know.

No, I'm not clueless at all, I have my opinion about the state of the basketball program. I'm well aware of what we are getting next year. I just hope that these guys are not the one and done players, because we don't have enough top tier players to just reload like the Kentucky's of the world. I played some college ball, I'm by no means an expert, but I know a little about the game.

We'll be ok, it will get better but it's hard to feel good when you drop games to these teams. It doesn't give you a good feeling for the conference.

Brady sucks. I support Trent Johnson for another 2-3 years. If we are still the same, then we make a move. We will never be a National Championship basketball program. I just want to be able to make the tournament on a regular basis.

Maybe not, but we were 1 game away from being one. LSU has so much potential in hoops it's scary.

Trent Johnson did not come in with NO talent like Brady did. In fact, he was handed an SEC-championship team.

Huh? Yeah, he was handed an SEC-championship team that finished dead last in the West two years in a row before he got here.

See, he actually coached them. And LSU was the only team that challenged the eventual champs (NC) in the tournament. Hell, we were winning with like 8 minutes or so left in the game.

But Trent definitely needs to step it up and make the program better.

Well, your grammar is as bad as his spelling. My point stands, though. You came across as a total asshat.

Okay, so you don't like Brady. I get that. However, he CLEARLY left a talented team for Trent Johnson to coach. So, TJ is a pretty decent coach, and a pretty terrible talent evaluator if you are going to go with your line of reasoning. Is it Brady's fault that Storm Warren is regressing? Is it Brady's fault that Eddie Ludwig is a wasted scholarship?

I'm not asking you to love John Brady, but you should at least be able to hold Trent Johnson to the same standard. And by any standard, he has not earned his paycheck for the past 2 seasons. Like someone mentioned earlier, love or hate, fans at least cared when Brady was here.

Well, I would call them yellow warning flags rather than red.

Anyone following LSU basketball had to know we had a serious drop off coming after the 08 season. Granted, I didn't know it was gonna be this steep of a drop off, but I knew it would get worst before it got better.

We saw in 08 that Trent can coach talent to a successful season. Now, we have to see if he can sign the talent needed to be successful.

I will wait and see what happens in Feb and next season, but no doubt we have a long way to go to get back to being anything close to the 08 level.

No, I didn't care for Brady. I didn't think he was a terrible coach and he did have a couple of high points that were really fun. And I highly respected the way he exited. But he had too many personality issues while he was here. Again, NOBODY thought Trent was inheriting a talented team when he was getting a team with back-to-back 6th place finishes in the West. I didn't say anything about Trent's talent evaluation. For all I know, he may be a terrible talent evaluator. I have no clue just yet. I didn't say anything about Storm Warren. Maybe it's Warren's fault, maybe it's Trent's fault. Or as you said, maybe Trent is a terrible evaluator and Storm isn't talented (though he seems very athletic). As for Ludwig, if he's a "wasted" scholarship, it wouldn't be Brady's fault. But it would be just like one of many that Brady did waste on a yearly basis.

I said Trent needs to step it up. What more do you want? Trent has only finished two seasons at LSU. He won the SEC in his first and we finished 6th in the West in his 2nd. However, we lost a lot of mature guys and played with a lot of young guys last year. It wasn't too surprising. Now, if we finish 6th in the West again this year, then I might say that he's not earning his pay check. Spencer's departure hasn't helped either, but Trent's team needs to win some games that matter because he's not Mr.Personality.

As for people caring, go look at the attendance records. For the most part, fans didn't care when Brady was here (especially the last few years). But he did have many haters that visited firejohnbrady.com. However, I don't think that's the type of caring you're looking for because 85% of those people didn't go to games when he was getting good results. So they weren't much help for the program.
