Looking ahead to next season, who does everyone think will be the starting WRs?

I personally think McMath will be one of the breakout players and will start with Chase and Marshall. However Boutte/Palmer could make a strong push as a vertical threat for the third WR.

Another possisibility for certain packages (redzone?) could be Gilbert - X, Marshall - Z, Chase - Y, and Kole Taylor as the TE. SI reported that Gilbert could be used as the X and Chase is better suited for the slot than Marshall. I believe I previously read that Chase wants to play the slot but could not find the article to confirm that.

The discussion from most outsiders will be that LSU takes a step back due to losing so much talent. I would not be surprised to see A&M picked ahead of us again. Those people will be mistaken because the talent that Coach O has infused into this program is remarkable. Reload, not a rebuild

If the O-line can gel and Brennan just plays good, the offense will be really good with all those WRs. I'm very comfortable with what I've seen out of the RBs too. They all have a lot of talent.

The defense may need a more time to figure things out (especially at LB) due to losing a lot of guys and going to a new scheme in a weird year, but there is plenty of athleticism on that side of the ball to make up for the lack of experience.

Would not be surpised if Palmer is that third guy as well. Being able to make a legit arguement for 3-4 different guys as the third WR goes to show how deep and talented we are.

I think the team will go as far as the O-line takes them. If they have stability as a unit, we will be the team to beat in the SEC again.

Top 3 will be chase, Marshall, and Palmer with racey being the next man up. Gonna another stellar year on the receiving front.

They are all going to play. Beyond the Paw Patrol it will be WR by committee.

I think Palmer is just gonna step into Jefferson spot in the slot and they’ll use Gilbert a lot more than Moss in the passing game

Good God man. We have so much fricking talent on our team that it's almost not fair. Seriously, how are teams going to cover our wrs, arik Gilbert, and our rbs out of the backfield and all the while having to worry about our damn strong running game as well? We have so much talent that it only takes a game manager at qb to be very successful, but Myles is more than simply a game manager, he can fricking sling it. Good luck is all I have to say. On OTB a day or two ago, Ensminger said McMath is going to pull a lot of weight similar to Jefferson. Also said he expects great things this season from Jaray (sp?) Jenkins and Trey Palmer.

wouldn't surprise me at all if Jaray Jenkins gets in the mix this season as well. Then with the way Kayshon Boutte looked in that high school all star game it is hard to count him out even as a true freshman. Pretty sure they would like to get the ball in Jontre Kirklands hands as well. We are just ridiculously loaded at WR for the 2021 season.

Hope it all can come together quickly with not having spring camp. O line has the talent but is also going to have to gel quickly to give Brennan some time. But the talent is there all over the field on offense again this year.

I get picking Palmer but I really see it being Chase Marshall and McMath as the main 3 most of the time with Palmer coming in certain situations

McMath is a very pro looking receiver. Multiple coaches have said they expect great things from him this year. Also, they said NFL accounts have told them that he will be an NFL receiver more than likely. He had the body, speed, and can catch. Just needs to show it.

It will be Chase, Marshall, Palmer/Boutte and Racy. Depth is also crazy good.

If LSU continues it’s MO of no substitution for extended drives, some of that talent may get bored so they better find a way to get them all involved in other ways like PR, KR, etc.
that is my only worry about the numbers, if that is even a legitimate one.

as much as lsu throws now, nobody has a reason to get bored.

some people are seriously underestimating how much talent lsu is returning.
