Screw 5-0. Look at that schedule. If LSU is good they should get to 8-0 if they beat Ole Miss.

It’s almost as if when we get up by 10+, they think the game is over. Bad passes, poor shot selection, etc. You'd think after the blown games against Fla St and Houston that they’d realize this by now.

Something needs to change, it’s very problematic that we continually run out to big leads only to have to hold our breath in the last 2 minutes. I know with young players it takes time to develop that killer instinct but man oh man it’s gonna bite us in the arse soon

12-6 in the SEC gets us in the tourney but if we want a top 4 seed then we need to go 14-4 at the minimum.

1. LSU is, at best, an average to below average defensive team. You close out games by stringing together stops. LSU struggles mightily to do that.

2. Though Wade says they focus on it ad nausem, this team doesn't seem to have a great sense of situational awareness. Up 10+ with less than 10 minutes to go, you have to really value possessions to close out the game. The opponent is desperately trying to force you into quick shots and turnovers. LSU doesn't have to go "slow" in those situations. But they have to get a better understanding of what is a good shot and what isn't in that situation. Also, when to push and when to play with a bit of discretion.

Last night they were up 12 with ~9:00 to go. A good possession could have been a KO blow. Instead, Mays takes a poor shot, LSU turns the ball over it's next two possession by being lazy and Ark goes on a 9-2 run when it looked like they were on the verge on waiving the white flag.

You're a good FT shooting team. If LSU has a sizable lead with 7-8 minutes or so left, they shouldn't be jacking up quick shots unless they are WIDE open. Try to get to the line and close out the game there.

You make a great point here. When watching games, I get more nervous when LSU gets a double-digit lead than a modest lead. They have to get over this hump and just put teams away.

I'll say this, we had a 4 point lead when days got injured. Kavel misses a front end of a 1 and 1, we stop them then Naz misses a 1 and 1.

That right there would have finished the game. Teams are gonna make runs but plays like those have to be made to finish games. But we didn't dick around in OT and pretty much handled them which was encouraging.

Clutch free throw shooting on the road is crucial.

Jack, I said to pump the brakes on this idea, but it looks like it is very doable. In fact, as Hanny was saying today on radio, 8-1 or 7-2 at the halfway point of conference play is doable. It damn near should be expected. I said before last night's game that I wanted to see us go on a run to get one of the top 4 SEC tourney seeds to get the double bye. It was kind of tongue in cheek, but it may actually be possible. Good call, my friend. Let's hope the team continues to improve at the rate they're improving now.
