He has definitely exceeded my expectations in the NFL. Dude is one of the very best defensive lineman on the planet. Ranked #32 on top 100 NFL players last year, #72 this year.

3-star out of HS where he played QB, was initially a WR at LSU and didn't convert to CB until Jr year. He and Travis Daniels being able to lock down their guys on the edge helped the 2003 defense be so good.

Nothing against the guy and I hope he is doing well, but Shy Carey should not be on this list. He did contribute some but no 5 star should be included. It is not his fault he was overrated out of HS or matured early and hit his peak early. Addai would be a much better choice.

How about Kenny Davidson, career back up at LSU and played about 10 years in the League. I love Russell S. and he has managed to hang at the pro level but exceeded expectations...no.

There is also a difference in exceeding expectations out of HS and doing it out of college. Mo is a good example here of doing out of HS and not so far in the league. Cecil Collins is another one. Also you have to factor in personal issues and injuries.

Faulk had a great college career and a very good pro career, but I wouldn't put him on this list. I don't think LF can make it either even with the trophy and a great all pro type career.

Devery Henderson was an afterthought at running back and his transition to wr helped us win a championship and he went on to have a productive NFL career

Brad Wing
He may have been a jack arse but he played a huge roll in the success of that 2011 season and I remember the recruiting board melting hard that we offered him at PBS.
