It was pretty dumb of Troy to tweet that IMO. Sure it was funny (seriously it was), but they rely on schools like LSU to schedule them for games to fund their athletic department. It's probably not smart to be petty and bite the hand that feeds you. If they want to make a habit of trolling those schools, then schools may not want to pay them a stack of cash to play them anymore. They blew out Oklahoma State back in 2007 and played both UGA and Florida close the same year. They also beat #19 Missouri in 2005 and played #18 LSU close that year. It's not the first time they've turned a rent-a-win for the opposing team into a win.
It's also not the best look to let a win like that go to your heads and lose to a terrible USA team your very next game. In the words of shark molester, "they got what they deserved."

so does that make it worse than our loss to UAB because they were in the CUSA? Or worse than getting drubbed by Houston the year before, also in the CUSA? Or how about getting beat by 4-7 Tulane when we were ranked 7th in the country in 1982? Or losing to Miami of Ohio in 1986 as a top 10 team?
It still doesn't make sense to call it a "record" loss. It didn't set any record, nor was the loss unprecedented for the program. Yes, it broke a long streak of us beating largely shitty non-conference teams at home.
