to prevent them from winning the NC. Some good team can run out 2 starting pitchers in 3 games that are just dealing and beat them in a best of 3 series (like Kentucky), but it’s hard to see them losing in a longer format. Their lineup just never stops, and like today, in a longer tournament, you’re eventually gonna have to run out your 4th, 5th, 6th best arms, while they’re running out dudes who touch triple digits. And a lot of them live there.

I know anything can happen in Omaha, but it’s hard to see them losing if they get there. They’re built for it. The LSU fan in me hates them and says “frick ‘em,” but it’s hard for the baseball fan in me to not appreciate it.

Maybe Project or some other more knowledgeable recruiting guys can speak to this, but I think this is just a unique situation due to COVID giving an extra year of eligibility and that draft only having 5 rounds. Winning breeds winning (recruiting), but I despite a lot of their pitchers being freshmen and sophomores, I don’t think amassing this amount of roster talent top to bottom is sustainable.

I hope that’s the case anyway. Would make it a lot easier to stomach.

They are damn good. But they’re completely capable of fricking it up along the way

I don’t think anyone is going to in their park.

So it’s better not to get 16 and face them in the cavern in Omaha.

Teams have won 50+ games before and not won a championship.

No shite. Do you think that is what I’m basing my opinion on? How many games they won?

They have less than 6% chance winning it all

I remember Oregon state losing 4 games all year and we beat them 2 in a row.

They will roll through Regionals and Supers into Omaha.

If they lose, it’ll be there when they face a top pitcher and a tough ball park.

horseshite. And no stats you can throw out there can disprove it. THIS team has never played in the postseason before. It’s probably the only team I’d take over the field in my 35(ish) years watching CBB.

They’re not losing in their Cracker Jack park. Their offense has a much better chance of stalling in Omaha.

They were also saying only ONE #1 seed has won the Championship in the last something something years.

1999 Miami was the last time it happened.

Tennessee’s offense is not built for Omaha at all but they do have pitching that may be able to carry them. Personally I think they lose in Omaha but I have been wrong many of times in my life.

The CWS is built like a regional + a super... you get the regional format the first week, and then go to the super (best of 3 series) for the championship.

With their reliance on HRs, I wouldn't say they are built for Omaha. That park is big and dead, usually. I remember seeing a lot of warning track outs there. You got to crush it to get it out.

We saw that in Hoover, although they went undefeated: LSU game was tight, 5-2. Fla game was 8-5 with both teams hitting a HR.
Tennessee scored, but those aren't the 12-1 games we've been seeing from them, and neither LSU nor Florida had a starting pitcher worth writing home about.

They will see better teams in Omaha.

They are beatable for damn sure. It isn’t a coincidence that they have the same issue LSU has with the same type of pitchers. Give me a guy that sits between 89-92 with a 79 mph change and a slider or cutter. I’ll give them (and LSU) problems if that guy can command his pitches.
