One of the most fantastically shitty coaching performances in the history of football. I hope it was just an aberration but I thought we would be past the straight up incompetence of the last 10 years with Miles here. This is pretty disheartening.

quote:

That was embarrassingly bad coaching. The naysayers might have been right about Miles. We’re f*****.

quote:

I still believe in the Mad Hatter, but this game has raised some doubts in my mind. This offense is HORRIBLE. Our offensive scheme has less imagination than any I've ever seen. I think we may need a new OC in addition to a new QB. I really believe we have some weapons on offense, but our scheme and QB and poor offensive line play makes it impossible to utilize those weapons.

quote:

This wasn’t supposed to be like the last ones. That’s what is so hard about tonight. This was supposed to be the slam dunk. The home run. The best possible outcome. There was supposed to be no uncertainty with Les. There wasn’t a polarization in the fan base and even among local sports followers and most national ones. The fan base was unified and energized for the first time in a decade and we were all actually excited that this could finally be fixed. Finally! Les was supposed to be the one that we all knew would not have games like tonight anymore. He was going to restore Competency. Respectability, Fundamentals. Success.

quote:

My guess is he’ll retire at the end of the season to limit the damage to his legacy.

quote:

I'm so frustrated and demoralized I've got to get this off my chest:

1. Our offensive line got completely manhandled by an FCS team and one of the worst FBS teams in the country.

2. Pretty much the same for our defensive line.

3. Les Miles is a worse game manager than David Beaty. Let that sink in.

4. Les Koenning has got to be the worst OC in the history of the sport. A trained monkey with Williams, Herbert, Charlot and Parchment at their disposal could put together a plan to score more than seven points against Coastal fricking Carolina.

5. We establish in Game 1 that we have two very good playmakers in Charlot and Parchment. We proceed to completely exclude them from the game plan of Game 2.

6. Our kickers completely suck. Again.

7. Our quarterback sucks. Again.

Yep. The sad part is how obvious it was from September 2005.

Cue the Miles apologist.

Miles had the most talented LSU teams of all time from 2005-2007 and he bungled all three seasons. He backed into the 2007 championship and everybody knows it. Dude was handed the keys to a Ferrari and drove it like a Volvo.

Les will never run some offensive juggernaut but that shitty school is lucky to have him. They have been absolutely terrible for a long long time. Les wont win a championship there but he has vastly improved recruiting and once he gets a class or 2 there, they will be a middle of the pack team which again is GREAT for them.

stating objective facts isnt being an apologist. it's called living in reality.
2005 had a region altering natural disaster forcing them to take an early biweek and then play 9 straight weeks.
the only regular season loss was by 3 points in ot against a team that would finish the season top 10.

the above statements arent my opinions. they are objective facts.

you mean the 3 straight top 5 finishes, 2 sec west titles, sec title and NC?

he was handed a team that had lost less than 3 games TWICE since 1987.

he had one of the most accomplished tenures in sec history let alone the most accomplished tenure ever at a top 15 alltime.
ifs that's driving it like a volvo then I hope all our HCs drive it like a Volvo.

Yes. Believe it or not that was underachieving given our talent level. He fricked up the Tennessee game in 2005, and that was a sign of things to come. We then got Auburn 2006. Florida 2006. Kentucky 2007. Arkansas 2007.

Just stating -- what did you call them -- "objective facts."

It's objective fact that he was worse than the average 4th grader at gametime management.

a sign that he was going to have the most decorated tenure in lsu history?

the best coach in the history of cfb(saban) with by far the most talent in cfb, loses every year. how is a lesser coach ,like miles, losing 2 times is a massive underachievement?

the fact is he had the most accomplished tenure in lsu history
