So LSU would be left out of a 12 team playoff?

I wonder if the CFP committee would evaluate the top 12 differently if it was a 12 team playoff this year.

Hypothetically, the SEC CG would be LSU’s first playoff game. Win & you’re in. I guess if you can’t beat UGA then you don’t belong in the playoffs anyways.

I get that the loss to 4-7 A&M was bad, but it’s an SEC opponent on the road.
#12 Washington (10-2) would be in & they lost to a 3-9 Arizona State team with no head coach.

I also disagree that Florida State should be ranked higher than us based off of a head to head result in a kickoff game. Although they would probably still be on the outside of the playoff depending on how the conference championship games go.

Makes you wonder about scheduling these non-conference kick off games & whether it will hurt or help you in the long run. Doing well in the SEC is what really matters, but can’t lose to FSU in ‘23 or USC in ‘24.

Assuming TCU, USC, & UGA all win, I think 1 of the 9-4 teams would get in at #12. LSU, K-State, or Utah. Based on the rankings, I would assume that would be K-State but that probably depends on how they look against TCU.

If you're in the ACC, big 12, are Pac 10, You should have to play these games. SEC schedule is daunting enough

True, but what if it’s a close game with UGA & they lose 24-21?
I think LSU is a better team than 4 of the teams ranked higher than them & would still deserve a shot at 9-4.

Playoff teams should not lose to 4-7 opponents.
Coaching staff was a failure to end the regular season just like they were in game 1.

Wouldn't matter, isn't the rules for the 12 team playoff conference champions get an automatic bid? So ranking wouldn't matter.

Washington would be in the playoff.

We didn’t lose to A&M because of coaching. We turned the ball over & got outplayed.

the problem they see with lsu is which team will show up. We are very inconsistent.

There is no way we will beat Georgia after that terrible loss.

We exceeded expectations this year.

losing final 2 games and still make the playoff? The sec would have UGA, Bama, Tenn in with a total of 4 losses between the 3...LSU with 4 losses shouldn't make the top 12

I can agree with that, but Utah or Kansas State would. I think LSU is better than both of those teams.

Sounds like college football to me? Did any team play at a consistent level for 12 games?

Good thing it's not up to you.

Conference Championship games are going to go away when the playoffs expand.

Conference Champions will be determined by record and then a series of tiebreakers and those teams will get the “auto” spots. It’s not going to be like basketball where you have a bracket buster tournament conference champion

A 3 loss team with a horrible loss to Texas A&M at the end of the season honestly shouldn’t make the playoffs, but it would also depend on the season as a whole and who is ahead of us etc

They’re not getting jumped by an Oregon State or Oregon that isn’t playing this weekend.

Actually… I forgot about the G5 champion. I guess Tulane or UCF would be in, so maybe those two do get left out at 9-4.

Nah. Not when you get boatraced at home by damn near 30 and then lose to a 4-7 (1-6) team by 2 TDs

We don't deserve a shot at shite unless we beat Georgia

No.

Bamas best win this year is against the 4rd place big 12 team.

The ACC does suck though.

some posters really underestimate just how horrible this loss was. with everything on the line we got boat raced and manhandled by a team that lost to App State and put up 20 points on UMass

qualifying it with “sec road game” and “hostile environment” is laughable

Agreed & actually when the playoff expands, I don’t expect any teams ranked 8-12 to really contend for a national Championship.
Sure, maybe a low seed will upset an Alabama or Clemson one year, but I don’t see a team like that running the table and winning 4 in a row.

The whole country was laughing when it was 38-17

If A&M kicked one at the gun to beat us it's one thing.

When they just ran clock in the 4th because it was an arse whipping and still ran it down our throat, it's another.

All these moral victories are fine but we had a real shot at a playoff birth and got our shite pushed in by a team that was 1-6 in the SEC.
