I was referring to LSU having to Deal with peta and all the organizations that don't want wild animals caged or captured. We'll lets see 3 dead tigers compared to maybe 1 of those tigers being able to live out its days in a spacious air conditioned preserve. All the while promoting the conservation of these beautiful animals to thousands traveling to LSU campus/games yearly.

I'd bet we could buy a cub cheap from China. They have thousands of them in farms.

Inexpensive tiger? Check
Save poor creature from awful death/make tree-huggers happyish? (Rescue tiger) check
Chinese bandit? Check

Other than the language barrier, I don't see a downside.

Or India

Oh okay, thought I missed something. Yeah, this incident was easily preventable. Absolutely ridiculous. Many places would've taken these big cats.

I'm a traditionalist in regard to the tiger mascot, but times have changed. Maybe a housecat with tiger-stripe markings could suffice in lieu of a wild Bengal or Siberian Panthera tigris.

Incentivize tiger-mill breeding in China by paying them to continue the shitty practice: check.

Looks like they were being selfish and entitled. They were trying to belligerently dictate to the local government what they were going to do, and if they didn't get their way, they took their ball and went home. A lot of people across the country have this mindset. It's childish. I would hope there is local law against animal cruelty that they can charge them under, but I doubt it.

Exactly! They are still expecting to have a Tiger in August or so. Work is progressing on Mike's habitat.

So you're saying that there shouldn't be standards for the treatment of animals? Other developed countries have similar laws and regulations regarding the importing, exporting of animals and minimum standards for the care, handling, housing, and transport of animals.
