he didn't have to play college ball. It's the NBA's rule that a player has to be one-year out of high school. Has nothing to do with colleges.

Simmons could've played internationally for a year out of high school, or he simply could've sat out a year.

He wasn't forced to play college basketball. Not even close.

So you're pissed that Simmons was a one-and-done?

F Marshall.

You've got two young qbs. They need help. But Chase and Marshall said screw you to them.

If they wanted to go pro or avoid getting hurt, there was a perfectly ethical way to do it. They could have announced what they were doing in the spring. Instead, those selfish brats went through summer and fall eating up valuable practice time and reps that the newbs and backups needed.

Now what is going to happen? When a soph has a killer five games and the scouts are raving about him, is he going to quit?

NFL should institute a penalty for this kind of crap. It should either ban the player from being signed for a year or limit the top round in which he can be drafted. That will get their attention.

IF they don't, the schools should start banning the scouts from their campuses and programs. I'm sure there are other measures that can be taken.

However, if after opting out, he publicly trashes his time at LSU a la Ben Simmons, then he’ll be permanently disowned.

Not that I agree with it at all, at least Chase did it before the season started.

I don’t care if we are having a bad year, your true self is revealed through your actions during adversity an You've got two young qbs. They need help. But Chase and Marshall said screw you to them. d in tough times and Marshall just said frick y’all, I’m worry about myself.

You don't call a players only meeting to rally the troops only to quit a week later like a ho right before your biggest game of the year.

Honestly he’s a fricking quitter. And for all those who say he doesn’t owe anything to you. You’re right, he doesn’t. But he does owe it to his teammates, his school and his coaches.

His teammates owed him something two nights ago when Marshall was the only player on offense that showed up.

shite, LSU problem is NOT those players that are projected in the top 2 rounds. How about keeping or convincing those that are rated 4th-7th round to return. That would be a start to have a consistent elite program instead of this bullshite rollercoaster we seem to not get off.

Why would the NFL do that and willingly make it harder for top young talent to come to its league?

I’m curious how many times or how many threads are we going to have about the same subject over and over again

Perfectly ok with players quitting on their team mid season.

Well, Tigers are cats.

Cats are pussies.

Yep, he's a true Tiger.

Where did I say this?

ETA: Yes I wanted O fired prior to 2019... he then gave us the best college football season of all-time. I'm good with him being the coach forever. That's how good last year was.

So you're calling me angry because I'm not angry?

Interesting play.

Wish him the very best, but it is a bad look based on timing, and I do not like the message it sends, as it can become a precedent. Once you quit once, it gets easier the next time, and easier for others to do too. Much like the "everybody gets a trophy" trend we saw and what that led to, I am never in favor of quitting something you started. Chase gets some heat for his decision, but I respect that more than quitting in the middle of a season. You think it would have been the same decision if things were similar to the middle of last season? Probabaly not. Once you claim that roster spot for yours, you are committing to the team. Just my opinion.

While I agree, I think this is more an underlying problem with coach O and the coaching staff. Clearly the team did not buy in this year or give a flying frick or else we wouldn’t be sitting at 3-4. Nor would we have all these players opting out/quitting. At the same time if you are gonna do that, do it at the beginning of the year and not 3/4ths of the way through.

Marshall was giving it his all sat night. We are 3-4 and the freshmen qbs are not doing him any favors (not helping his draft stock) I think he is a true tiger and gave us everything he had. I would feel terrible if he blew his knee out playing meaningless games...hell most of the fanbase quit on this team after Mizzou

no, I was simply responding to the post that said Simmons was pissed he had to play college ball. He didn't have to play college ball.
