this has not been his best year running the defense. Will he end up being like the Clemson's Brent Venables? making great money without any added pressure of being a HC. In the 4 top 10 matchup games the defense has given up over 31 points on average.Maybe its the new offense helping contribute to that but it just seems he has made some questionable calls lately. The last one being not in a prevent defense when stingley got burned by smith for the late touchdown. I think aranda is still a top 5 Def cord but this year his shine is no where near it was the last few years. Let the downvotes begin

Stop!!!

Maybe the right P5 HC opening is the only way I see him leaving. We’re addressing depth issues on the run d. Enjoy the show and quit speculating during the season!

You really shouldn’t be downvoted. This year our offense is so good it’s masking the defensive woes. When that offense isn’t clicking quite as good next year, the defense will be the focus and your downvotes will be upvotes.

Aranda loves soft zone coverage, except when up by two scores with a minute left at Alabama

Most overrated coach in football. "Third and Aranda" has to go. Ready for all the Aranda cultist to start down voting.

That call was mystifying.

Gah damn!

He called a great game Saturday!

Some of you are so fn butthurt over 2 blown coverages, get the fk over it!

This game was 3 plays...3 plays from being 46-20 (2 blown coverages and punt return)

Our DL can’t create pressure and that causes problems throughout the defense.

So over 30 points is calling a great game
I really was liking what he did in the first half against bama with the different disguised blitzes then in the 2nd half he went right back to what has caused the defense issues . No pressure without the blitz. I understand we had a big lead but it almost cost us the game had it not been for the offense bailing out the defense once again. Why not keep the pressure on like the offense does througout the game? It was working then he just quit?

Injuries.

Once vincent went out, the calls on defense changed.

Bama scored on a punt return, a nifty trick long pass, and a drive requiring several 4th down conversions. Spotted those 21 points, Aranda held Bama to 20 including the bad defensive call at the end of the game. His work with hybrid coverages this year was always targeted towards Bama. It paid off with Queen's int. If LSU plays Bama again they won't get a luckout punt return, and I'll guarantee you, Stingley won't get burned on two bombs. Aranda got pressure on Tua throughout. He kept Bama off-balance with alignments. DA did a very good job IMO.

Here’s your downvote. First for being a dbag, but you know that. Second for being a drama Queen. Far from being overrated, Aranda has done a great job. But your over dramatization was classic Rant Tard. Good job.

It was 2 blown coverages from being 46-27

I’d say it was a great game plan, overall. The final score looks close but LSU dominated.

If something happens to Gus, Aranda will be at the top of Auburn’s short list.

Not one person on the playoff committee or the national media gives a shite. Their take they lost by 5 points. If you guys want to believe Aranda almost didn’t give the game away in the second half then so be it. Btw we gave up almost 30 points in the 2nd half. As OP said we stopped what was working in the first half and without the offense saving us again the defense/Aranda gets the blame. Also I enjoyed the win

Our talent level on the defensive line is still suspect. In the second half Bama run game overwhelmed our line and as usual we got very little pressure on the QB.

Pretty hard to deal with as a DC.

The incoming recruiting class will solve the defensive line talent level. Probably takes a year to get SEC ready.

Ehh, the qb prob won't drop the ball again. You guys ignore the gift wrapped plays from bama as well.

But, the dline recruiting is finally where it should be. We should be fine for next season and beyond with how this class is shaping up.

Lmao, maybe that great fn team made adjustments. It was 2 blown coverages.

I see youre not calling out the offense for only scoring 13 pts in second half. 0 in 3rd. What about JB missing 2 wide open guys that would have been scores.

Gain some fn perspective.

Wtf are you trying to say? How far did you expect Bama to fall if LSU had won 46-27? No further than 6. Get over it

LSU
OSU
Clemson
Uga
Bama
Penn
Minn

correct

imagine the 2003 or 2011 D or even 2007 d with this offense? 2007 d was beat up last half of year with injuries and had issues in red zone but still was ranked 3rd in nation.

2003 was our best ever.
