So how exactly did we dominate Arkansas so hard?

They're a good team and can score points but we made them look awful. I know the answer is effort, teamwork, and following the game plan when you truly break it down.
I am just so impressed, that first half they could do NOTHING on offense, it was a successful trip for them if they didn't turn it over

You didn't hear about the new OC hire?

Great team defense. I am not sure wtf Arkansas was doing but they couldn’t get any decent or clean shots off until midway through the second half. Our game plan was perfect.

Because Will Wade is the Messiah.

We executed well offensively and actually played really tough defense for the most part, Arkansas was settling for a ton of long, contested jump shots. Like Wade said after the game, it was our best executed game of the season. He said the gameplan worked to perfection with the execution we had.

Will Wade is the real deal, and the players are buying in. Thank God ( surely not Alleva) that we have Wade to overshadow the OC shitshow!

It could have been worse too. We had a bad night from the free throw line.

Great offensive game plan and shot it pretty well. Limited turnovers.
Arky was cold as shite and couldn’t set up their defense.

I don’t know enough about basketball to say but I will say this. Will Wade has them playing damn good. Whatever it is he’s doing is working Bc it is night and day from last year. I’m excited about this season and next season will be even better.

They had a down game. Like us against Notre Dame. Just couldn't get it going.
LSU played well, but Arkansas was like 3 for the first 23 shots with decent looks in first half.

Mike Anderson is about the same as Johnny Jones
Both are lousy gameday coaches
Neither teams played defense and if they are on with shooting they will run you out of the home gym

The defensive effort and discipline last night jumped out at me. Arkansas was not getting clean looks and were kept away from easy fast break points.

Tre Waters. That's how. He controlled the tempo and spread the floor out. Arkansas was never able to get into any type of rhythm offensively.

To add to this, with 8 minutes left in the game, he clearly controlled the tempo and slowed things down a lot. It's a game if we wanted to we probably could have put up 85-90, but he saw with a 20 point lead and 8 minutes left to simply limit possessions the rest of the way to not give Arkansas any chance of coming back. We dribbled it out down to about 10 seconds each shot clock from there on out with him controlling it.
It was a beautiful thing to see.

1. LSU was completely unselfish on offense. Arkansas isn't a great defensive team and is prone to giving up a bunch of open shots. LSU took full advantage.
2. Waters completely controlled the tempo of the game. Arkansas wants to play up and down, fast basketball where they barrage you with shot attempts. LSU wouldn't allow them to get into the flow
3. LSU played very good defense and Arkansas missed shots to start the game. The horrible start by Arkansas completely knocked them off their game. The shots weren't falling and hey became frustrated and didn't play with any effort defensively because of the frustration.
4. LSU, particularly Epps, did an outstanding job on the glass of holding Arkansas to one shot possessions in the first half. Many times a team can overcome a terrible shooting night by getting second and third chances on offensive rebounds. LSU's rebounding eliminated that and exacerbated Arkansas' shooting woes. Ark. was shooting it poorly and they were only getting one shot each possession. That allowed LSU to balloon the first half lead to 24 points
In short, the game plan was prepared and executed to near perfection

right on thuderbird1100. Our opinions may differ on LSU football lol; but we're very similar when it comes to our opinions on this basketball team.
Can't wait until Saturday night in the PMAC!!

1. LSU played their best game of the year.
2. ArKANSAS played their worst game of the year.
3. Arkansas coach is horrible in my opinion and Will Wade TOTALLY outcoached him.
4. The Ark. players continually were bitching about the refs and not "getting any calls" to go their way. Their fans were horrible too showing how little they know about the rules of the game when the replays were being shown and they didn't agree with the call.
5. Arkansas looked tired.
6. We have Tremont Waters and they don't.

Arkansas usually has a great full court press after made shots. They usual cause a ton of turnovers in the press. Waters was so good at easily beating their press that they eventually stopped trying to trap in the press and backed off all but one guy the rest of the game.
I was very impressed that a young freshman was able to accomplish this in this typically hostile environment. He actually made it look easy.
