I'm going to respectfully tell you you're wrong. When anyone inside the College Basketball orbit (Which DV is) starts talking about having a "reliable inside source" that indicates LSU will be put on probation (and even gives a time line), it absolutely affects the decision making of 18 year olds (as well as their 40 year old parents). Nobody wants to sign on the dotted line to play for a school that might be banned from TV, Conference Championships and Post Season play.
I have my issues with Will Wade so I am by no means defending all of his actions, but to think Vitale's (apparently made up) allegations didn't steer talent away from LSU is just a willful disregard for the circumstances.

The only "issues"you could possibly have with Wade is that he got caught over a barrel in a tapped phone call. I hope you aren't like irish in regards to Wade/LSU being too dirty for your taste. If so, you might want to start rooting for Mcneese or someone else at that level. And I bet they cut corners in recruiting also. That's how the sausage is made in the world of big-time recruiting, ESPECIALLY in college basketball.

I guarantee you you 90% of the 17-18 year olds looking for a college team have no idea who that old frick is. All the "fans" watch tv and know him, but players play. They aren't worried about some dried up old frick.
