Skenes vs. Crews for 1st overall

Would like to know peoples thoughts on who you'd take at #1 given Paul Skenes continued development and just total domination.

While true, having a stud starting pitcher can have a much bigger impact on the games they pitch vs a positional player. Which is every 5 days in the majors.

The Pirates have the number one pick. I would take Crews and I believe they will to. If they can lock up Oneil Cruz and Crews becomes the player everyone thinks he will, that’s a great core.

It’s gonna be a hell of a decision for sure. Both players are so far ahead of everyone else at their positions. We’re gonna look back in 10 years and wonder how the frick these two played on the same team.

I’m drafting Ace before position player, that’s like drafting the best qb and having the shittiest O-line. Imo aces are harder to get

Many teams will favor a position player over a pitcher due to the difference in injury rate.
So I think all other things equal, Crews will go first. But either are definitely worthy #1 selections.

Something to pay attention to regarding this is if the Pirates and Bryan Reynolds can come to a contract extension agreement. If they don't agree they may target an extension with O'Neil Cruz and then draft Crews to hopefully build around them. If they come to an extension with Bryan Reynolds and O'Neil Cruz then maybe they lean towards Skenes as a top arm to work with.
