How long does Ed O need to meet expectations?

For the record I don't believe for one second this is a rebuilding project.

If our expectations are 3-5 in the SEC at best he'll get there in 2-4 years.

Really ? Can we play at least one game after a loss before we throw in the 'rebuilding' towel ?

2019 should be the year we get back to competing for championships. The depth problem should be solved as the weak 2014 and 2015 classes will he graduated and replaced by hopefully stronger 2018 and 2019 classes. Plus the 2016 and 2017 classes will be JRs abd SRs.

We should also should have a good, experienced QB under center.

If we don't compete for the west in 2019, we might as well find a new coach.

Y’all keep taking stuff to the extremes. It’s almost like you don’t like O and haven’t from the beginning, and want him to fail.

This has always been a rebuild. How are people not seeing that.

Or, maybe some didnt like the O hire from the beginning and want this nightmare to be over as soon as possible rather than continue to make excuses for his piss poor coaching ability (if you can even call it that).

Honestly- if this becomes a rebuilding process, cut bait with O now. Either elevate Aranda if you think he will become a good HC, or go get a young HC from somewhere.

By rebuild, I mean start from scratch. You don't take an old coach for what will take years to accomplish, because when you get where you want, he will be on the way out.

We brought in Miles to maintain, and he did. We brought in Orgeron to maintain. If he can't, he must go.

Nah, this contingent wants to be proven right at the expense of their program so they can act high and mighty. They'd rather be right than good.

If this is a rebuild:

1) What evidence in O's resume proves that he can actively rebuild a football program?

2) What, so far, has he done that's shown he's addressed concerns and issues other than hiring some people?

So you’re cheering for the team (and O) to fail because you didn’t like the hire. Wow, just when I thought our fans couldn’t stoop to a lower level.

And if your idea of a nightmare is losing one game to a decent team, then I’d hate to see what you said in 2008.

Where in my post does it say I hope the team fails? I would love to be wrong, but I damn sure am not going to make excuses for Orgeron's incompetence when he fails.

You said you want the nightmare to be over as quickly as possible, which would entail the team (and O) failing, would it not?

My idea of a nightmare is hiring a coach that was not even considered for the Syracuse HC job and would not seriously be considered for ANY HC job at a Power 5 school. Then, on top of that, the same idiots that supported one of the worst hires in college football in the last 20 years are doubling down by making excuses for his complete lack of an ability to run a football program.

Meh. Maybe it is a rebuild, but if this team doesn't start playing with some passion and discipline, nothing is going to change the perception that O is in over his head.
He will have this year and next to prove that progress is being made. End of story.

One more SEC game?

Or are we supposed to bring back the championship parade floats after we give the Orangmen the business?

Well, my preference would be for O to have never got the job in the first place. If he wins out (lol) then I would still want him gone. He is an awful head coach and it is going to catch up to us sooner or later.

Why do you want LSU to fall into mediocrity? What has Ed Orgeron ever done to prove to you that he is capable of maintaining LSU as one of the top 3 or 4 programs in the SEC?

Unlike the guys that have bashed the most successful coach in school history for a decade??

That's rich.

The CheeriOs literally are just happy that they "won" by getting rid of Miles and never cared at all what happened to the program afterward just as long as Miles was gone.
