Anyone who wants the tradition gone isn’t an LSU fan. Those numbers mean something to the recruits and the former players that wore those numbers. It’s what the word “tradition” means. It hands down greatness and leadership. Anyone who disagrees is likely a woke arse millennial who doesn’t have a clue about either.

The players enjoy the tradition. Its another incentive to work for. You guys act like a number effects the way a person performs. Guess what. It doesn't.

Down vote away boomers.

I don’t particularly care but if the players still value it and buy in I support whatever they decide. If they want to retire them, so be it.

I think it’s a little crazy for fans to be calling to put an end to it, frankly.

NO ONE!!

Let that crappy bullshite die. Recently, this number 7 & 18 is a shite show, starting when they gave #7 to the Texas Tech transfer J. Giles. What a joke!

Then, Delpit did not do it any justice, yes he was hobbled, but it is what it is. #18...given to Curry who has now transferred to Utah. The year before K'Lavon did not put up great numbers, but was solid. He overran his pursuit and could not adjust to get more actual pressures or sacks. The year before that, 2018, it was Foster Moreau...Meh!! So, Moreau, Chaisson and Curry had #18 last 3 years.

And when you look back at the 2020 roster, it shows our famous #7 with NO PLAYER!!! lol

Get a number and keep it throughout your college career including #7 & 18.... Giles was stripped of the #7 and given #12... Ha Ha Ha.. Get rid of this nonsense.

I can go along with this. #7 Sting / #18 Brennan.

#18 - Liam

He announced his return next year and the avalanche followed.

Maybe it’s just me but I would never want to change numbers, especially if I’ve already made a name for myself and created an identity with it, or it meant something special to me like 24 to stingley.

Even if it’s given as a reward or honor, I would say thanks but no thanks. It’s kind of a dumb thing

It’s time to end it. It’s immature and silly. The man makes the number.

Fans bitch, but it’s a huge deal to the players.
