So it begins...

quote:

“When it’s all said and done, he’s going to be the most highly recruited player out of the state of Louisiana,” says Mike Detillier, a longtime NFL draft analyst based in New Orleans. “It’s going to be a tsunami of recruiting like we’ve never seen.”

Similarly, college coaches continue to try to find ways around the Mannings’ recruiting embargo. Take last summer, when Arch and his high school team won a seven-on-seven tournament on LSU’s campus. Tigers coach Ed Orgeron and his offensive staff spent much of the event schmoozing the Manning family. “It was unlike anything I’ve witnessed at a seven-on-seven tournament,” says Shea Dixon, a 247Sports recruiting reporter covering LSU and Louisiana. “I haven’t seen LSU coaches put that attention on a senior, let alone a kid who just finished eighth grade.”

The Tigers planned to offer Arch a scholarship, Dixon says, before they learned the likely reply: There is no offer to give because there is no offer to receive.

Is it plausible to think LSU actually has a chance to get him? Do you think his handlers have some specific coach they want him to play for? Is there an actual anti-LSU bias in the family, or is that mostly myth?

Well seeing as three of the four Manning's went to Ole Miss, i'd say there is a bias in the family.

They might not ever say it, but its the same bias that (hopefully) prevents all of us from writing checks / allowing our children to go to Alabama, Ole Miss, Florida, etc.

Kiffin is a weisel.
Ole Miss has been irrelvant.
Tennessee folded the program.
Orgeron is a man of honor.

Eat your heart out Manning family.

No chance if Walker Howard signs with LSU. Walker much, much better than Arch.

I agree if it were any other school in the country besides landmass U we would have a realistic shot but Ole Miss legit loathes LSU. The little brother syndrome is strong.

If Kiffin wins and puts out a great offense and wins he’s going to ole miss. If Kiffin is a dumpster fire then LSU probably has a decent shot

Come to LSU...or don’t. LSU will be fine either way.

No Manning has ever won anything in college. He’ll have to give up the Ole Miss legacy label if he wants to change that.

Highly unlikely. His parents and grandparents grew up in the Ole Miss and Tulane eras of New Orleans, and they have a deep-set dislike of LSU like I do of the Dallas Cowboys.

They are going to play is like Landon Collins and Dylan Moses.

Stay away from these folks.

It doesn't matter how good he is

Reading this I doubt you'be been to a Newman game and seen Arch.

Mike D. always says shite like this. He is a blowhard without any real opinions. He takes opinions of others and manufacturers all of it into an opinion of his own. Buddy D made this clown and now we stuck with him.

Seen both. Howard is in another universe. Arch won’t sit behind him waiting to play.

This is key.

Too early to know that. Arch is a year younger.

I have. My nephew and Arch are great friends. His mom is my mom's goddaughter. The situation all rests on Walker's decision.

This. No Manning has ever won a National Championship and that’s not going to change if the kid goes to Ole Miss.

One thing to think about is what happened when Eli came out of college. The family didn’t want him to suffer like Archie did. At that point Peyton and the Colts had had some decent seasons but it was a struggle and they were no where close to what they would become. My point is the family looked at the landscape and history and knew they had to rescue their boy.

Maybe they hate LSU so much it won’t be us but I like the odds of him not ending up at Ole Miss. We all know how the Kiffin era ends.

In any event, if we don’t recruit him he damn sure won’t come. In 5 years no one will be mad at O for trying like hell to get him even if we lose out.

He would come if we still have this offense and he were able to maximize his skills in it.

So much of the SEC landscape is likely to change before this kid commits.

Maybe Tom Coughlin becomes the head coach at Missouri and arch ends up in Columbia.
