Should I stay or should I go?
Baby No. 2 is due to arrive Nov. 2., exactly one week after the Auburn home game on 10/26. Wife, who is a huge LSU fan, said I shouldn't go to the Auburn game b.c. it's too close to the due date. She is worried she goes into labor and I miss everything, which is understandable.

However, baby No. 1 was an entire WEEK late and she had to be induced. Also, I live in Lafayette, just over an hour away. And last, labor is long. That kid ain't just going to pop out.

The only real problem I can see is if she wouldn't be able to get a hold of me via cell phone/text, which is also a reasonable fear considering cell reception inside Tiger Stadium.

If I miss the Auburn game, the only good game I will attend all season is the Florida home game. I know I'll miss Arkansas and Texas A&M b.c. I'll have a new-born at home.

I'm just trying to salvage money invested in tickets, but also, there is no circumstance that I would want to miss the birth of baby No. 2.

I know the right thing to do is stay, but dammit I wanna go to the game.

So, should I stay or should I go? Is there a deal I can work out with her?

Dude. Seriously?

ETA: You should be with your wife when she gives birth.

Do you want to be divorced? Then yes of course there’s a deal!

Dude, it’s your child’s birth vs a football game. Come on

If this is even debatable to you, you are a shite father.

Just bring her with you. Maybe you’ll get lucky and have the baby born in Tiger Stadium

Jesus Christ, LSU sports are fun and all, but at the end of it all, it's just a bunch 18-21 year olds playing games.

Get you're fricking priorities in order.

Jesus

Some of you people treat LSU football like it’s more than a football game.

It’s just Auburn lol. I’d be ok with that being the game I’d have to miss if I had a baby due around that time

Surprised by these responses. It's an hour and 15 minute drive from the house. I'm not going to Siberia. Does every expecting father stay within an hour radius of their pregnant wife in the weeks leading up to the due date?

This shouldn't even be a debate. Be with your wife...check the score during waiting periods. Worked for us.

I’m still probably a decade away from having kids, but c’mon man. This is ridiculous you even need to be asking this question. You know the right decision. There will be plenty of games in your lifetime to attend.

re: Should I stay or should I go?
I have missed weddings of close family members due to attending big LSU games.. . because frick people who schedule weddings during football season (including during playoffs and bowl games).. but planning the timing of the birth of a baby is a little more difficult.. i dont think i’d miss my kid being born for any game.

And i dont even have kids.
