Why is Scott Ballard on the board? He has no loyalties to LSU.

Not necessarily. There are people out there who will have good insight that didn't necessarily go to LSU, also an outside perspective probably wouldn't hurt in some regards.

No, imo a BOS role is to be effective, decisive and operate always with the best interest of the company. No exceptions.

They don't need to be Alums, but should also have no potential conflicts of interest with their alma mater.

The overwhelming majority should be alumni. In the very least, they should have strong ties to the university and deeply care about LSU if they are not alums. They shouldn't be in a position of power for personal gain or be political cronies who bought their way into the position. Looking at the current BOS it looks like a significant number of them have zero ties to LSU. That's a major red flag and probably part of the reason we're in this mess.

Gave money to JBE campaign and will do what he's told. Complete soup sandwich. Stop buying PJ's Coffee!

This I agree with. People with direct ties that care about this place will carry that X factor over others who didn't.

I know when I care about things I try a hell of a lot harder to do better.
