He played bad, so he got benched. End of story.

Really? If you are talking about 2008, he lost his spot because of an injury. If it is based on 2 interceptions against a great defense, then obviously you are of the opinion all his good play up until then was negated and shouldn't be considered?

If playing bad was a criteria for being benched, we wouldn't have seen JJ again after the Vandy game last year. So, no, it's not the end of the story.

My fondest wish is that at the end of the year, we'll all look back at the QB situation and marvel at Les Mile's (and the two-headed O coordinator's) coaching and managing skills...as we roll over trying to sleep off the hangover we got, watching LSU acquire another national championship.

I would personally root for an alien from outer space, with green skin, who confessed to killing Lincoln, Kennedy, and inventing the mosquito...if they put on the purple and gold and win games for LSU. Both QBs have done that this year.

Yep. We didn't really need Lee for much more than handing the ball off.

I hate when the race card is pulled. 99 % of Tiger fans have grown past that years and years ago. Fact, JL ranked second in the SEC. JJ last year when he started 11th. JL ranked in the top 25 nationally. JJ 111. JL 3 int. this year JJ last year 11. So if we want to see more of JL, we are suddenly stupid. There is some dumbest going on here but it aint us!

JJ is a very young adult that needs all thew help he can get. Part of a coaches job is to mold young men into productive young men....and Miles is doing this with JJ........

plea NO more post on this......

Enjoy this season...it's special......

IMO, to get away from what we've done offensively for the first 8 games is fricking stupid. I dont see how anyone with a brain could disagree.

JL is not a star and IMO gets way too much praise for staying at LSU. Our fans act like he is the only backup QB to not get his shot. JJ has put up with just as much crap in his career but from the fans. I think both should get the same applause.

Not altogether true. JL made some clutch throws.

W.r.t. the question, it all depends on which JJ shows up; JJ of the Cotton Bowl - absolutely. JJ of UTenn - doubtful.

JL was not in a bar fight. JL doesn't say things like "I put the team on my back" or "I don't need to apologize to my teammates.". Or after a poor performance he owned up to it and didn't say that he thought he played good after a piss poor performance. This is why he will get a louder ovation and I think it's appropriate that a team player gets a louder ovation.

I dont believe it is unreasonable for fans to question the choice in qb's especially when the most recent season long performances are so completely different. JJ who took the overwhelming majority of snaps in 2010 had a horrible efficiency rating and I think any objective person would say for the entire season did a poor job of qb'ing. Lee had a few good games and a few not so good but his playing time was very limited especially when you weigh how poorly JJ played. This year with Lee starting he has played very well overall though with some hiccups but I dont see how you could look at 2010 JJ or 2011 Lee and rationally argue that it is even close. Sure the offense has changed and the O/C but the biggest difference is at qb. Yet in 2010 when JJ was playing his worst he was never benched and that was a 7 game stretch. Lee had one poor game and was benched so does that strike you as logical or consistent? As for disagreeing with coaches a prime example was 2000 when Rohan was injured in the Florida and was kept on the bench well after he was healthy and missed several games completely until the 2nd half of the Peach Bowl. Many people I know were screaming for Saban to put Rohan back in especially during the Arky game when Booty threw 14 straight incompletions. Were we wrong to question Saban is that not allowed? As for booing on Senior day I have never and will never boo an LSU player. However in LSU history there have been fan favorites and players who were not as loved and received less louder cheering. I think JJ's performance last year and his statements last year and this year "I played well" "I put the team on my back" "Overall my performance has been fine" when it is obvious those statements arent based in reality combine to make him much less likeable. The same way he is allowed to make those statements the fans are allowed to express their opinion on that player. I hope he will not be booed but I do expect his greeting to be much less enthusiastic by the fans. Over the years I have seen senior special team players greeted more warmly than some senior starters. Mainly due to their "likeableness" and the way they were viewed by the fans, this is no different.

I would say if you say Lee bailed out on every throw you would be incorrect. Also Peyton Manning says he practices not stepping into his throws because about 75% of the time in a game he cant. This was in response to Vern I believe asking him about a throw Lee made during the Tenn game. Lee definitely is money when the pocket is clean. JJ looks about the same to me still holds on to the ball and waits till receiver is open and you all know about the inability to go through his progressions havent seen that change.

bet the JJ guys hated hearing that coming from a future NFL hall of famer's mouth....that was one of their biggest arguments against him...

his psyche was not right because he knew he screwed up by not going to class and the effect that that had on the team. He appears to be back on track

The irrational love for Lee by posters here and radio show hosts on 1210 defies logic. JJ Ball is abysmal to watch but Coach Miles gets to start who he wants. Why spoil the best regular season in ages with your nonsense? The words and deeds of the Lee crowd are truly repulsive.

I'm guessing what you are referring to is Miles "defending" JJ last year, despite his poor performances, but that I'd say it has more to do with that he's not gonna throw a player under the bus.

Maybe. Even non LSU fans believe he treats the QB's differently. JJ had loads of grace, Lee was a couple throws away from losing his job even though he played much better. It's fair to question.
