Example of poor player/roster management.

Played in 3 games in 2 seasons. No redshirt. That's a damn shame. They should try to get him a medical.

Gage bio

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2015)
Played in the season opener at Mississippi State ... Trained as a defensive back throughout the season.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2014)
Saw action in a backup role against Sam Houston State and New Mexico State as a true freshman in 2014 ... Recorded two tackles against Sam Houston, one on special teams coverage and one on defense.

To be fair, without canada’s offense, he would never have seen serious time at LSU...

This years' offensive version of Duke Riley. Will definitely be playing on Sundays as a special teamer. I can see the Patriots picking him up either in the 6/7th round or as a free agent.

That's not an indictment of Gage. That simply speaks to how inept we are on the offensive side of the ball.

He started playing last year the second Orgeron was the interim.

Senior leader for the Tigers in 2017 ... Has developed into an offensive threat at wide receiver after originally signing with the Tigers as a defensive back ... Transitioned from defensive back to wide receiver in the spring of 2016 ... Thrust into more playing time during the final eight games of the 2016 season and eventually became part of LSU's wide receiver rotation ... Set to have his best season as a Tiger in what will be his final season at LSU in 2017 ... For career, has played in 14 games with four starts ... Has five career receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown on offense to go with eight career tackles on defense and special teams ... Switches from No. 39 to No. 83 this year.

JUNIOR SEASON (2016)
Played in 11 games with four starts ... Starts came against Missouri, Southern Miss, Ole Miss and Texas A&M ... Had best game of career in win over Texas A&M, hauling in five passes for 62 yards and a touchdown ... Caught a 9-yard TD pass from Danny Etling in fourth quarter against the Aggies to stretch the LSU lead to 47-25 ... Contributor on special teams as well, finishing season with six tackles.

No. He’s not going to be a pro.

His play on special teams will get him a spot in the NFL.

I agree with this. He may go undrafted, but quite a few guys make hay as specialists on ST units

Yes, he will. He's one the best special teamer's in the conference. I feel like he's one of those guys that just needs a legit opportunity.

Yes, it is.

No player with an available redshirt should waste it for 3 games over two seasons.

If he's not a long term part of your plan, then process him and tell him to move on. Otherwise, do what you can to develop him for the future. That means redshirt him for mental and physical maturity.

They may be able to retroactively grant him a redshirt

And the exodus of WR from LSU opened a spot.

Anybody that doesn’t think this dude will be a special teams ace in the league is crazy. That dude is making a roster.

Dude is the first person to the ball on every single punt. He’s definitely going to make a team as a special teams guy. Just like wright did in Cincy.

He'll play special teams on Sunday. He's put enough on film to warrant a roster spot

I don't think we missed much from those kids: Quin, Diarse, Johnson, Dupree. There's no slack.
