Do the brackets flip in the semifinals like they used to in the 8-team format?
Posted on 5/23/13 at 10:08 pm to Broski
nah. everything you see in the bracket in the OP is just as it seems. no gimmicks surprisingly

is anyone in favor of the sec going to pool play like the acc and some of the other conferences?
Posted on 5/23/13 at 10:11 pm to NOLATIGAH
I'm definitely not in favor of that
Posted on 5/23/13 at 10:12 pm to AstroTiger

frick that shite. Atleast with this format, we can kind of get a feel for how our rotation will work out in a regional.
A win tomorrow, will give the 4th starter an opportunity to pitch in a playoff atmosphere so he is not thrown in cold should we need him in a regional.

I dont like pool play..but if we had the ACC rules we would get the tiebreaker on a 3 way tie automatically because we had the best seed in our pool. Even though we lost to Arky.
2LSU
3 Arky
6 OM
7 Bama
2LSU
3 Arky
6 OM
7 Bama

yeah it doesnt seem to give "bubble" teams much chance to make a regional, national seed, etc.

Are you fricking telling me that the ACC just uses the highest seed as a tiebreaker???
Lazy arse fricks.
Posted on 5/23/13 at 10:16 pm to TN_Tigers
Any tournament that involves using tiebreakers is fricking terrible.
Posted on 5/23/13 at 10:17 pm to NOLATIGAH
Cant remember the year but a few years back all 3 games on Saturday meant nothing in the ACC tourney. The title game was already set on Friday.
Posted on 5/23/13 at 10:18 pm to TN_Tigers
that would make sense cause if the top 2 seed win their first two they would automatically go to the champ game becuase of being the higher seed. right?
Posted on 5/23/13 at 10:19 pm to TN_Tigers
yeah it seems to happen every year. CUSA does the same thing.
Posted on 5/23/13 at 10:19 pm to Broski
Yes Broski..they changed it a few years ago.
For example this year..VT beat UVA and FSU
But if they lose to GT and UVA beats FSU then UVA advances even though they almost got run ruled by VT
It would be VT 2-1, UVA 2-1, GT 2-1, FSU 0-3, and UVA would advance because they were the 3 seed and VT was the 6.

Cohen just pulled Graveman in a 2-2 count.
He is such an idiot.

Big 12 does it too..and they do all 3 pool play games in sucessive days. ACC you at least get one rest day.

Yea, they're distant relatives... No lie
