LSU can be either the 3 or 4 seed based on Saturday's results. They are guaranteed the 3 seed with a win or a Florida loss to Tennessee.

Here are the seeding scenarios for each possible outcome and each of these 4 scenarios assumes Ole Miss beats Vanderbilt.

#1:
LSU Win
Florida Win

3. LSU: 11-6
4. Florida: 10-6
5. Ole Miss: 10-8
6. Tennessee: 9-8

#2:
LSU Win
Tennessee Win

3. LSU: 11-6
4. Tennessee: 10-7
5. Florida: 9-7 (.5625)
6. Ole Miss: 10-8 (.5556)

#3:
Missouri Win
Florida Win

3. Florida: 10-6
4. LSU: 10-7
5. Missouri: 9-7
6. Ole Miss: 10-8

#4:
Missouri Win
Tennessee Win

3. LSU: 10-7 (head to head over Tennessee)
4. Tennessee: 10-7
5. Missouri: 9-7 (head to head over Florida)
6. Florida: 9-7

Lets see what happens and try to improve our 127th defensive efficiency ranking.

First time doing this so if I got anything wrong let me know.

A win vs Missouri would be huge for seeding for both tourneys.

It's nice that even when we all feel like the basketball team has grossly underperformed (which they certainly have), they still lock up the double-bye. much different than what we've grown used to the 12 or so years pre-WW

ETA: We actually haven't won an SEC Tournament game since Ben Simmons was here

Yep.

Moreso in the SECT because getting stuck in the bottom half of the bracket (2/3 seeds) likely allows you to play against better competition. THAT is what is important...not necessarily winning the the tournament for a team like LSU who is probably "in" the NCAAT already

Scenario #2 would be best for LSU.

Obviously the win against Mizzou helps the resume even more and gets us closer back to that 7 seed line; and well, b/c winning is better than losing.

But we also want TN to win to ensure our game against them stays a Q1 win. Currently they are #23 in the NET. While a loss to Florida wouldn't knock them below 30, the possibility of them going to the SECT and losing their first game against a lesser opponent could very well put them outside the top 30, making our game against them a Q2.

If it weren't for that reason, I'd be all about them losing if for no other reason so the media and TN fans can choke on their words and all the TN/Rick Barnes hype from the beginning of the season. How his ability to continuously do less with more is always overlooked is just beyond me.

The only bad thing about that scenario is Ole Miss would be the 6th seed, virtually guaranteeing LSU's first game in the SECT would be a Q2 game. Still, if the tradeoff is a win @ Mizzo I'll take it. Plus, I think LSU matches up better with Ole Miss than the others making it more likely LSU would get a semi-final game against Arkansas (who I think LSU also matches up well with...Days aint going 0-8 again)

The time is NOW to get on a roll and hit that stride. Like beating Mizzou on the road and going 2-1, or if the team plays defense, 3-0 in the tourney the sky is the limit. Going 0-2 In our next 2 games would be awful and would mean the team quit in Wade. Although I don’t see that happening NOW IS THE TIME TO GET ON A ROLL AND LET THE BASKET START LOOKING LIKE AN OCEAN TO CAM. If not now then when? Next year?

Arkansas is likely making the Final Four this season. I want to stay far away from them until they matchup

Gotta get that 3 seed so we can avoid Bama until the championship game.

Yeah I’ll take Bama early. Beating a team three times one season is not easily done.... hell they only beat Vanderbilt by 4 two games ago.
