If you do not care about WBB, fine, but know this, we HAVE to have a team and we had a program that went to 5 final fours in a row, sold out big games and got 10,000+ to at least 4-5 games a year. Now we have 1 player out of 16 on all sec team and a coach who is 3 games above .500 in sec into her 10th year, has never finished higher than 4th in SEC and makes $750K in a program that loses $2.5-3M per year.
Finally if you do not follow the sport, know this, the SEC has some VERY bad teams in it and beyond SC no one is coming close to final four this year.
A waste of what could be a great program here.

If Nikki keeps consistently making the NCAA tourney she won't get fired

I feel like a "K keep me posted" is warranted here.

And I am a fan of women's basketball.

I'm not happy with her performance at all, but I think the AD keeps her around if she keeps making it.

This was one of Woody's big 3 priorities when he got hired.

(1) Improve fan experience and tailgating around campus
(2) Gut compliance dept
(3) Fire and hire womens bball coach

I mean, it's likely pretty impossible, no matter how much money you have, to be a consistent conference contender in every single sport.

LSU is a consistent legit contender in football, baseball, softball, men's and women's track & field, gymnastics, and the men's basketball team has competed well as of late.

Women's basketball being towards the bottom of the conference while those other sports above are having success doesn't seem like the worst trade-off in the world.

WBB is getting exactly what it deserves for the way Pokey Chatman was treated! Did we ever hear of the victims of this “ inappropriate relationship”????

I was hopeful when she was hired but she has absolutely done nothing with a team of her players only. Middle of the pack in the SEC and haven’t been past the first round in over 5 years.

She is what she is, very mediocre. Not disastrous bad but not very good either.

It’s become a big money pit though. Crowd sizes and donations have diminished in recent years.

Maybe I am misremembering but there weren’t victims it was consensual but you can’t have relations with a player on your team.

Think of it this way if Chatman was a man having a relationship with an 18-22 year old he was coaching how would that go over?

Well, that's a huge load of crap.

with many of those being give away games....of items and of tickets

During their run, they averaged less than half capacity for those seasons

They just aren't supported, so dropping any more money than is legally required is a waste

As an LSU Alum, I care about ALL the Athletic programs and feel that LSU has all the resources necessary to be a Top 20 program in every sport.

I DO NOT, however, waste my time and energy supporting programs that have very obvious poor coaching with dysfunctional administration.

Women's BB is at the top of the list!

Kim Mulkey Robertson coulda/woulda/shoulda been hired at LSU many years ago. She's from Louisiana and is certainly one of the Top 5 women's BB coaches in the country.

How many SEC/National Championships would we have won by now with her in place?

Pay her what she wants, get her in here and be done with it. (I thought that this was going to be Woodwards first big move at LSU, but "Politics" is preventing it from happening. )

Assume nothing, it is definitely what he is insinuating!

This moron drops that card at every moment he can with not even a shred of evidence to support his claims.

Not one fan have I ever read has said anything about Caldwell's race, or even come close to suggesting. In fact, when she was first hired, many on here raved about how attractive she is. But this stupid clown paints with that broad stroke brush all over this board.

Just ignore the troll!
