Season Ticket Holder Survey
Today they sent out the surveys for season ticket holders. This is the time to let your voices be heard about the complete shite show that is Aramark Concessions along with other problems with the stadium experience. As much bitching as I saw on this board this year, here is your chance to show the University admin what you really think about them, so take advantage.

be sure to note the high cost for donation fee, when the single game ticket price thru third party (stubhub) is much lower than the TAF price.

re: Season Ticket Holder Survey
my comments:

Too hard to get to game.
Too hard to get off campus after game.
Too corporate; LSU seems disconnected from the middle-class fan. Everything is pay pay pay, nothing in return except more hassle.
Too many neutral site games; no big name non-conference opponents at home (again, all about the money, disregard for fans)
Too much piped in music.
Not enough band/tradition.
Too much advertising.
Overall gameday experience is a burden. No longer fun to attend games.
I went to every game from 1999 through 2010, home and away. LSU has driven me to the point of only attending one game this year even though i was offered free/cheap tickets to most.

Came to me in an email that's tied to my season ticket account. I tried to click on the link again and it just takes you to a survey monkey page.

re: Season Ticket Holder Survey
I just blasted them too... Lots of "very dissatisfied" buttons clicked.

Here's what I wrote them... I know it's long and I did leave my name and email address for them in the letter (which I deleted here).

Again, sorry so long!!

To whom it may concern,

Thank you for the opportunity to express my comments on the experiences that I encounter as a season ticket holder in Tiger Stadium and in the Southeastern Conference.

I have several concerns about the experience and the decline of that experience in attending LSU Tiger athletics.

I knew that when LSU hired Aramark to run the concession stands in Tiger Stadium, it would be a disaster. I've dealt with those fools as a high school administrator and coach. Saying the concessions in Tiger Stadium is a joke, is a compliment. I've never seen such a horror show of incompetence in my lifetime. It was so much nicer when the local schools and organizations ran each concession stand and I even donated extra at times because the service was so good. Now, they run out of everything long BEFORE halftime and the servers either haven't been trained well, or they just don't care about their jobs. I pray that the concessions during softball at Tiger Park are not this poorly run.

Also, the South Endzone restrooms, especially behind Section 411, for the men, are downright archaic. This is not the 1950s, but 2017! At least put some kind of ventilation system in the restrooms because the stench is sickening during day games when it is hot outside. I had to go to the restroom at halftime of the Auburn game and I had to hold my breath in the restroom so I wouldn't vomit because of the smell. Please do something about this.

The piped in music destroys the "college" atmosphere during the games. I can understand some, but not on every play. Let the band play more, as we have a new exciting band director and the halftime shows have been outstanding. If I wanted a NFL atmosphere, I would go to the Houston Texans games at NRG Stadium which is 20 minutes from my house. I've never been to a NFL game there, so that should tell you how I feel.

I was also irritated by the season ticket prices for the 2017 season. My season ticket price was exactly the same as 2016, but we had only 6 home games, compared to 7 in the 2016 season. Does this mean that the ticket prices are going up in 2018?

Also, who in the SEC office or the television networks thought it was a good idea to play home games in September and October at 2:30 in the afternoon? That tells me the games are more about money than the satisfaction of the fans in attendance. During the 2:30 game versus Auburn this year, I saw quite a few older folks being treated for heat exhaustion and illnesses related to the heat. I know it's their choice to attend, but many of them support the Tigers fervently and won't let the time dictate their presence in Tiger Stadium.

The length of the games and comfort of the fans can easily be fixed.... quit taking so many television commercial timeouts!!! It's getting ridiculous on the amount of time during games when we are just sitting there doing nothing because we are waiting for the networks to play an endless line of commercials. People at home may be able to get up and go to the refrigerator or the restroom and not miss any action, but we can't do that in the stadium. The CBS broadcasts are the worst by far on the length of games and those need to be trimmed by a lot.

I love to see the Tigers play in Tiger Stadium, and as an alumnus who is from and continues to live in Texas, it's starting to get harder and harder to enjoy the travel and experience. The drive from Houston is more difficult, but I can always overlook that issue if the experience is worth it. Right now, I get the feeling that the LSU Athletic and academic administrations do not value the efforts of the "common" alumni -- those of us who contribute what we can, but not the major donors of our university. I know a lot of alumni and season ticket holders who are very seriously considering giving up our season tickets because of all of the hassles of getting to and from the stadium and the worsening experience of being in the stadium. I never thought I would ever say this, but I am one of those who are seriously considering not renewing my season tickets to football and softball, my donations to the softball program, TAF donations, and LSU Alumni Association donations (I am on the board of the LSU Houston chapter).

I seriously don't think that these comments will result in any improvements in our experiences in Tiger Stadium, but I feel that if enough of us say what's on our mind, maybe things will get better.

I want to make sure you understand that this has nothing to do with our wins and losses on the field as I'm always excited to support our teams as long as they represent our university with hard work, desire, competitiveness, and class.

Thank you for you time and I hope these comments are taken as serious as the time I took to write these here.

Great post!

I agree with everyone of these, especially the PIM/Not enough GBFTL.

I used to be one of the die hards that would never miss a game, but it's not fun for me any longer either. Absolutely will not attend any games with that blaring arse Piped In garbage. Don't care what other SEC schools are doing. That irritating stuff IS going to be totally eliminated one way or the other.

I only attended the first half of the A&M game this season. Watched the Aggie Band/GBFTL, then left with Mrs. Semjase to drive to Houston for the last day of the Texas Renaissance Festival.

Very easy now NOT to attend games and I don't miss it at all because it's not enjoyable or emotional any longer............

I blasted the parking/traffic, concessions and piped in music. I doubt anyone at LSU really cares.

These results will not go well. I went dry on everything LSU gameday related as I am sure most responses will be. People dont bother to fill out surveys when they are pleased.

This survey was for the SEC not LSU. I can assure you, they care about their brand and their bottom line.

FWIW, the food in the Tiger Den suites has gone downhill this season too, and i’ve been told it’s not being handled by Aramark.

My comments and ratings addressed the concessions, video board, piped in music, and sound system.

They were hired by the SEC, and do this every year.

Front page of Baton Rouge Advocate this morning had a pretty good story about the surveys and their effects on the administrator's changes to the facilities. Larger theme of the story was the ever shrinking attendance EVERYWHERE, not just at LSU.

Also of interest around here, per the article, LSU used the survey data to "fix" the concessions last year. But parking/traffic is always LSU's #1 issue.

LINK

quote:

The SEC-wide survey produces different results, of course, at each school. At Florida, it is seat comfort, Hill said. At Ole Miss, it’s concession and restroom wait time, Thompson said.

At LSU, there are two complaints yearly.

“Parking and traffic,” said Matt Shanklin, LSU’s assistant athletic director for marketing. “Those are (Nos.) 1 and 2 every year. It’s getting in and out. We can’t move the river, can’t move the campus to get it closer to the interstate.”

LSU has “ample” parking compared to other SEC schools, Broussard said. It’s the traffic congestion that is tough to fix.

You realize that the SEC hires someone to send out those surveys, right? Joe Alleva isn't going to take his time on Survey Monkey building a survey. If you got it, fill the shite out or shut the frick up. They are giving you a chance to gripe.

Agreed. I don't shite talk LSU too much about traffic. Thats what happens when 80-100k people show up for a game. I bitch about parking. The way they have totally eliminated reasonable parking an turned it into "Pay us to park or you have to walk 3 miles" is pathetic.
