McKay held an event in which a a guest of honor, in this case Joe Alleva, is subjected to good-natured jokes at their expense intended to amuse the event's wider audience?

This shite needs to be stickied but our admins are towing the company line so this will probably be anchored soon.

Article is a damning indictment of an all around failure.

I typically avoid the hack "Hayride" like the plague, but agree with everything in this article. It is inconceivable that Alleva would not have spoken to Alexander during the last few weeks of the 2015 season. I have no problem w/ Alleva determining that Miles needed to go, and, pursuing Fisher ... but you don't do those things without checking in with your boss. A simple phone call would've sufficed. ("F. King, this is Joe. I can hire Jimbo Fisher, but, it's going to cost $7 mil a year, and, we have to pay Les's buyout. Oh, that's not politically feasible right now, due to funding issues? OK, well I'm glad I called you and checked, before I embarrassed LSU by appearing to treat Miles like shite and leave him hanging.")

And, as a savvy, connected AD (which Alleva obviously is NOT), in 2016, you make the correct decision to fire Miles early in the season, to give you a leg up on other schools who would be looking for coaches at the end of the season. You start making behind the scenes phone calls THEN. You don't put all your eggs in one basket. Herman was obviously never going anywhere other than Texas, but I don't fault Alleva for pursuing him. I have no idea about Fisher. There were other people worth looking at, surely. So what happens? A guy who was out of football, who was hired as a position coach, somehow finagles his way into being hired as the HC. I wanted to believe it could work, and last season was OK, the bowl game was great and recruiting was good. Now, I don't know what to say.

LSU and Ed Orgeron hit rock bottom

At this rate, with upcoming games at SEC East challenger Florida and No. 13 Auburn, it might be a while before the Tigers record their first conference win. Competing with Alabama in the SEC West? Maybe LSU should aim for finishing above last place in the division.

Ouch. F*cking f*cking OUCH

I did know Alleva messed up so much. Even a high schooler would have shown more competence.

If they screw up wade I'm done. They lucked up and got a guy we can all tell has his house in order. This is a very damming article, and goes to show us just what a crap show and the politics going on up there. Unreal but not surprising whatsoever

A former coach told me the guy is incompetent. Rather than working with the coaches to find solutions, he hardlines everything so he doesn’t have to think.
