You obviously have never seen that play ran before...
that’s an extremely difficult throw to make, and even if he attempts it, the ball likely hangs in the air long enough for the defender to make a play on either the ball or make the tackle on terrace.

Nah, Sidewalk Tiger is right on it. All Brennan had to do was just loft it up and over the outstretched arm of the defender so him sticking his hand out to bat it down wouldn't have mattered at all. All you're doing is making a simple quick throw to Marshall just like he did, but it's a throw he needed to put a little air under to keep that defender from batting it down and Marshall catches it easy for the TD. There's nothing difficult about a throw like that, many a QB's have made that throw.

The Saints have ran this type of play quite a few times in the same situation, they usually run it to a tight end or back though and from under center.
Drew will come up, usually pump fake to draw the rusher in, then toss it right over for the easy touchdown.
Brennan came up and threw so it was an easy bat down.

Last year's play calling hid a lot of the olines weakness imo.

Yes, as soon as the ball was snapped he just threw a straight line drive pass right at Marshall, it so easy for the LB to knock it down. Lol All he had to do was just arc it over to Marshall where the LB can't knock it down, easy touchdown.

Play calling and the abilities of Burrow, CEH and Chase hid a lot of the line’s deficiencies. How many times did we see CEH spin out of a 5-yard loss when a defender was face to face with him in the backfield immediately after handoff to create a gain? How often was Burrow throwing on the run to avoid a sack?
At what point does someone start asking hard questions about James Cregg’s ability to develop and offensive line. It wasn’t that good two years ago, either.

yeah, Joe Burrow was so good and deft at getting rid of the ball that it didn't matter if the OLine was blocking bad at the time. Dude played with a swagger last season that he's still playing with now in the NFL. Lol

CEH has everyone doing that spin move he's famouse for now. Lol Dude shoulda got a patent or some shite on that move. Lmao

Let me explain this real easy for you. Linehan was only brought on to lure nussmeier. Maybe not but makes sense
But Nussmeier speaks about callaway as much as lineman.

He should have just hired Calloway as the full time PGC.
He had more experience than joe Brady.

Why is linehan not given any credit for Brennan’s play?
Do we only point out the negative and ignore that Brennan looks better than most everyone thought he would?
of course

I believe according to PFF (Sometimes they classify weirdly) LSU was ranked 30th out of 130 FBS teams in 2019 before the Natty. Not bad by any means, but sometimes inconsistent. Joe Burrow and Brady were just so good under pressure it was unreal.

There’s literally no chance we don’t score with 4 plays from the one yard line, game on the line, with Joe Brady calling the plays.
There’s a reason he’s now an NFL offensive coordinator and already a damn good one. The man knows how to call an offensive football game.
All 4 plays we called were low percentage, low creativity plays. Those 4 plays sucked big time.

Linehan and Callaway are trash. Bo Pelini is probably worse.

The third down goal line play against Mizzou is a touchdown if Myles executes better.
I thought the same thing after the game.. "If we had Miles back just for that series we would have won".

Im not gonna bash Callaway yet. We dont know if he was even given a chance to help mold the offense. I believe Callaway was on the sidelines while Linehan and E were in the booth. Would like to see it switched.

I think it's more a matter of the blocking scheme and the play calling is on the same page. If the QB, changes the play, how well are we adjusting our oline?
