Scott Linehan vs Russ Callaway
We know Ensminger is the OC, but how much influence do the passing game coordinator and analysts have in the offense? We know Joe Brady was a tactician and called a bunch of plays. His right hand man, DJ Mangas has helped him diagnose too and Jorge Munoz was instrumental in Burrow's development as well.

With the three of them gone, Scott Linehan is the passing game coordinator and Russ Callaway is the top offensive analyst. Callaway has developed some top level QBs, but does he even get a chance to input his ideas into the offense? 3rd down and redzone offense needs a revamp badly. Would love to see Callaway in the booth helping Ensminger.

I sensed Linehan's influence with the lack of creativity on 3rd down and on the final goal line plays

Remember when the toss play was the norm when they got down there, one toss to Emery or even Price and they would have bulled their way into the endzone.

How creative can you really be when you're one dimensional because the offensive line cant get any push?

Last year's play calling hid a lot of the olines weakness imo.

How so?

I mean most of those guys were drafted and a couple are starting.

The line Saturday couldn’t get a push inside to save their lives. Charles Turner is not ready to play guard in the SEC. no offense to the kid, I think he would be ok at tackle or maybe center.

And Missouri was without its best defensive lineman as well as two other linemen.

shouldn’t even be a question. at least give yourself a chance and call something creative, rather than some BS that the defense is expecting. at least then you know you lost cause you didn’t execute, and not cause the defense knew what was coming and easily stopped it.

they knew the o line couldn’t get push for shite and still called 2 run plays in a row right up the middle. my point exactly

3 of the weakest parts of this 2020 LSU team are...

3rd down/red zone (Linehan)
Defense (Pelini)

Both hires are old school retreads and look to be bad hires at the moment

The third down goal line play against Mizzou is a touchdown if Myles executes better.

yes. And it hasn't been bad there. But we need more. He gets bulled alot.

He is making good protection calls; had to get his feet wet there in the MSST game.

But he as an individual blocker, especially re-establishing the LoS, isn't quite good enough for what we need.

If they call a pass there and Myles throws a pick or takes a sack every rantard here is crying about how we should've just pounded the ball in, especially since they were down three defensive linemen.

1. Got anxious and threw too quick

2. Didnt loft the ball over the backer's head.

Was Turner in at guard? CEO specifically said in reference to Ingram being out that Turner was a backup Center and maybe Tackle but he does not play guard...

Yes, he played OG. Not sure about how many plays, but enough where I noticed he was in there for several series (to the best of my recollection that is).

And a backup C is by definition a IL (or OG if you prefer).
