I think we've known for a while that this team is just going to have to out score everybody. Burrow's second interception was a result of him trying to force a big play because the defense couldn't do a thing.

And the result of poor LSU pass blocking that had Joe flushes from the pocket nearly every pass attempt in the second half. Joe had already thrown several passes away and taken big hits after releasing the ball.

Only keeping 5 to block requires that Burrow recognize the pass rush Scheme and throw the ball quickly. He didn’t recognize some of the exotic rush schemes that outnumbered the Oline last night so he took a few sacks. Ole Miss ran a lot of zone blitz where 3 rushers matched up against two blockers.

Well our stats are about to improve when we only give up 0 or 7 to Arkansas.

And given the way A&M’s offense has looked this year, wouldn’t surprise me at all if we held them to 14 or less in TigerStadium.

And UGA’s offense can’t score more than 21 against air.

All that said, our offense APPEARS to be unstoppable. So our D shouldn’t matter, even though our D is not nearly as bad as people will claim today.

Our D gave up a grand total of 7 offensive points in the first half in Tuscaloosa...that’s all I need to know about our Defense and their ability to step up and play to potential when it matters.

I'm sure it is but the game hasn't changed that much in the past 3 years and the last two national champions had the #1 ranked scoring defense. And the other 3 teams in the top 4 of the CFP ranking right now are all in the top 3 scoring defenses (Ohio St #1, Georgia #2, Clemson #3).

Has Arky played since HC was fired? Do we know what to expect from them under new interim?

Let me start off by giving Clemson credit for kicking the shite out of Alabama last year but will add their schedule is softer than cream cheese and allows them to put up gaudy numbers on both sides of the ball. Shutting down offenses like UNC, NC State, Duke, and Wake Forest is not exactly a monumental task.

That will be glorious. I hope we win the national championship 63-60 just to watch our stupid arse fans melt all game and off season.

I'm not worried cause LSU won't face another team like Ole Miss for the rest of the season. As Ole Miss, in essence, is a triple-option team and Dave Aranda miserably failed to get the defense prepared to face a triple-option team.

And Burrow is having a better year than Cam.

I think LSU will be ok.

How many of those other teams have had a QB like Cam or Burrow? Those other teams NEEDED top scoring defenses to win.

People also need to remember that one of the reasons that teams with high octane offenses often have bad defenses(2019 LSU, 2019 Alabama, the entire BIG12) is that opposing offenses are going to push the ball harder down field and play hurry up knowing that they have to out score your offense. You put the ball at risk when you do that so teams only do it when they know they have to keep up the scoring. The only reason they wouldnt is if they can control the game on the ground. Then they take the 'grind it out and hope to keep it close to the end' approach. Otherwise? Shootout and horrible defensive numbers..

I'll just go optimistic and say LSU will finish near 30th heading into the playoffs. Last night was a wake up call, and we won't face another QB like Plumlee until the title game.

Still second worst, but with the offense we have, 30th will be good enough to have a hell of a chance. A ton of points this year have come, if not in garbage time, certainly at times when it seemed futile and against a seemingly complacent D for LSU.

Not to mention without the 14 points given up by the offense against Vandy, we'd be around 35.

2013 Florida St did have a Heisman winner at QB. And 2016 Clemson didnt have a slouch at QB either.

That's what worried me going into the game. We started our 3rd and 4th string OTs. I could see him getting blown up by a free rusher due to the OT's and it nearly happened a few times. Magee was getting tossed around and Traore wasn't any better.
