Said it since day one we should have hired this guy for DC

I have said since we first started looking to hire a DC, we should have hired this guy. Someone that's showing up now and not someone who showed up over 10 years ago.

Oh and look. He lost 8 starters on defense.
Despite losing eight starters entering the 2019 season, UAB didn’t miss a beat. Along with finishing eighth in total defense and third in third down defense, the Blazers ranked fifth nationally in fumble recoveries (14), eighth in passing yards allowed (183.6), 11th in sacks per game (3.14) and 14th in tackles for loss per game (7.6).

Why are you saying all of this? Are you honestly defending this staff?
Answer the following:
If coaches are paid to teach the players to play and the players do not, is it the responsibility of the coach to play someone else?
Pat Queen did not play well early last year and sat the bench. He went on to become arguably one of the Top 3 defensive players on the team at the end of the year. When Baltimore played KC and Clyde made him look bad. He was pulled. He came back and has played great.
That is what a good coach does.
With that there are 3-4 star players riding the bench that have been in the program. Vandy, Mizzou and MSU are about the same with their starters and LSU looked bad compared to Mizzou and mSU especially on defense.

Odom was my choice as well and honestly still could be if they wanted him bad enough. Arkansas is a good job but how do you pass up LSU and the LA/TX talent it brings? Reeves from UAB has always interested me too. Pelini is like bringing a spoon to a knife fight. He’s got to be replaced sooner rather than later. I can’t see the players getting motivated to play for him.

I don’t know who we should have hired. But definitely not Pelini. I don’t know what conversations O had with Pelini that made him think he’s the answer, but he is clearly not. They are lost.

I dont think O can evaluate what is good coaching and what isnt. So, he simply hire a big name and long resume
