Miles lost 2 games in each of his first 2 seasons at LSU. Saban lost 3 or more in 4 of his 5 seasons at LSU and went 15-17 in 2 NFL seasons. Saban wasn’t nearly the hot commodity in 2006 as he has been the last decade or so. He also had a track record of not staying in one place too long and a prick pimp/agent in Jimmy Sexton that made hiring him less attractive.
