These last several games have all had the same lame attack on punters. Why do we not put pressure on opposing teams punts? It seems to me A hurried punt can translate into better field position.

Yeah, if you're not going to go after the punter, why not put the extra men as blockers for the return?

Serious question. When the last time we blocked a punt?

When someone is trying to give you the ball back, you let them.

Spoiler alert, BDP wasn't on the staff, and it was in 2013.

ETA: Sorry, that was the last time we had a block period, not a blocked punt. The last time we blocked a punt was in 2009, the same year trying to block a punt likely cost us the game against Alabama.

Whatever our scheme is for punt returns, it has completely sucked. We have six punt returns in the month of November for a total of 7 yards. When you're offense is struggling in games like the Bama game, you need a big play from your special teams to try and get some points. We haven't come close to doing that.

We don't even try to slow down their gunners. Everyone is just standing around watching the punter

So we can avoid 15 yard roughing the kicker penalties.

Not trying to make a big play just because we're scared of getting a penalty all of the time is no way to play an aggressive sport. We don't even set up our return though either, so we're really bad at this point in terms of punt returning.

Because we're too stupid to hold up. If we allowed Peveto to coach a punt rush we'd be giving other teams 15 yards left and right. Our collective team IQ is...not high

Generally, you don't pressure the punter to set up the blocking for a return...but the blocking effort is half assed at the same time.

Why is Peveto still here again?

Our punt return game is shite and has been for years. Orgeron hasn't changed it one bit. It's glaringly bad.
