Meanwhile, Woodward quietly walked out of Tiger Stadium after watching Oklahoma State’s game-winning defensive stand, saying little to anyone that night, aside from a line he repeated to dozens of people over the final week of his coaching search. “We’ve got someone,” sources recall him saying, “and you’re going to be happy about it.”

The butt hurt is palpable. The Have Nots are all up in their feelins. LSU is the evil empire now. So be it.

At least they spent their 100 mill on a coach that actually deserved it. Where is the righteous indignation about Michigan State giving Mel Tucker 95 mill? Mel Tucker lol. What in the hell has Mel Tucker done to deserve that contract? Just look at his coaching record:

'19 - Colorado - 5-7
'20 - Mich State - 2-5
'21 - Mich State - 10-2

I just don’t get the hate of CBK from the media.

This might be the most orchestrated smear job since the Kavanaugh hearings.

Not even once in that long drawn out crap do they admit how much successful athletics end up helping the academic side and the entire state economy as a whole.

TBob covered it this morning and how the latest Alabama dynasty completely transformed the academic side of their university over the past decade. Can't let that get in the way of a good sob story though...

How fricking scary is it that we have someone on our Board of Supervisors who think they should be able to tell other people to do with their own fricking money?

ETA: it says former BoS member. Thank goodness

Pretty fricking liberal for sure. Whoever that was needs to go away because they are no friend of the athletic dept.

Of course you have an a-hole like Blumenthal weighing in. Athletes in 2021 have more opportunities to earn based on NIL. His head is so far up his arse that he doesn't even understand that.

This is for Danang Dick: LSU hires the best coaches possible which helps those "poor players" play to their potential. When they reach their potential, professional sports comes calling where they can get paid their own obscene amounts of cash. And in the meantime, they can get paid on their name, image, and likeness.

There just upset that they didn't get the inside scoop of what was happening.

When TBob has a more thought-out take than a writer, maybe that writer should consider a new profession.

Noticed no mention about athletics revenue kicked back to the school (which is primarily SEC Share + those Private Donations).

Lot of whiny bitching in that article. This shite is about priorities and LSU alumni and students prioritize being the best in college sports. It is what it is.

Kelly was SW choice from day one. What SW wanted and what BK wanted were one in the same.

You have to say LSU conducted a better search than USC We rocked the college football world all while everyone thought we were scrambling.

I'm sure Gundy appreciates the mention, not like he has anything at stake tomorrow or anything.

Money that could be donated back into the engineering department eh...

University is an inefficient, bloated, government guaranteed dinosaur captive business model thats being forced on 18 year olds. I've been managing graduates for 12 years now, mostly in their first role out of college. Most don't know shite and their level of performance isn't any better/worse than 2 year college attendees..

I’ve talked about how the athletic department positively impacts academics since before Alabama’s dynasty started. Why I always laugh at the loser professors who love to hate sports.

Was Foster Campbell on the board of supervisors? He was quoted on a news report today saying things more moronic than that. He has no clue as to how the system works. I can’t remember remember whether I have voted for him in the past but I will not do so in the future.
