Jesse Palmer and David pollock are talking about playing at LSU as opponents (I’m watching an old game day episode from this season) and they’re talking about how wild it was that LSU fans used to rock their buses, walking past mike the tiger, and any football they kicked into the stands got thrown out.

None of those things happens anymore and that makes me a little sad.

It’s still really loud (see Florida ‘19), but we’re not huge assholes about it. It’s a good balance.

I can't wait for the Texas game. I believe that game will be rocking. I bet its going to be like the Virginia Tech game from 2007.

Thanks for making things just a little worse. Why didn't you just leave out that last sentence?

1979 USC players after they were gifted a win in TS. I don't ever want to come and play here again. They had never seen anything like it. They knew they got lucky.

When S.Cal came to T.S. in one of the most famous games in LSU's history, post game their All American tackle said " playing in T.S. makes playing N.Dame in S.Bend seem like Romper Room". "When that tiger, parked right in the middle of our way out of the locker room, jumped up against the side of the cage & roared, one of the female cheerleaders peed all over herself". The Bear said "playing in T.S. is like playing inside a big drum". Johnny Vaught said "playing in T.S. is like playing against 60,000 drunks".

Will Mike on the field ever be a thing again?

Camera phones and social media changed things.

With everything being on camera these days its tough to get away with these shenanigans. Shame. What he said post above.

USC was my 1st game in the student section. Never forget the gameday atmosphere and the week leading up to the game. The giant used Trojan hanging from the N Stadium dorm was awesome!

I remember In 1998, Cole Cubiac said Tiger Stadium is the most rowdiest place he has ever played in. He said he got flipped off by a little kid and a old lady lol.

It wasn’t a different era back then. It was a different world. Sure tiger stadium is always going to be rowdy but comparing some of the more recent atmospheres to 1979 USC, 2007 Florida, 2003 Georgia, and 1997 Florida is totally unfair. Those days are long gone and society is just way different.

I feel people were just more genuinely passionate about the games back in the day compared to today’s games.

That’s horseshite. 2007 isn’t that long ago and don’t forget SVP going on and on about the Alabama game in 2012. The problem is we don’t have as many night games as we used to. Games used to start at 7:30. More time to get lubricated for the game

All of that happened at the "Nix to Twillie" game. I even had to stop other students from chucking rocks at Auburn fans AFTER we won.

It was a different world, for sure.

2007 was 13 years ago.

An 18 year old freshman in college was 5 when that game happened and more than likely doesn’t remember that.

So what, you’re talking about it like it was a different era and it’s not. Not every game is going to be the ‘79 USC game.

It was a different era. People on here have even said every 5-7 years defines a different era and system in college football.
