Yes it can be ignored and apparently LSU is doing it. Well LSU is not totally ignoring it but they are concerned most with what is best for LSU football not about the BR and LA economic impact. Sorry it is so hard for you to understand.

If you actually think I don't understand that's what they're doing then I can't help you. I absolutely get that's what they're doing. I'm saying that they should give more thought to who they represent and why they exist and do as much as they can to keep that massive economic impact in the area. That's it. Sorry it's so hard for you to understand.

Is taking that 1 home game away form Tiger Stadium going to bankrupt the local economy and cause business to go under? I think not. It's 1 freaking home game we are moving.

It's a MASSIVE amount of money we're talking about. 30-50 million is a conservative estimate for the impact on the local and state economies from just one game. LSU put out a report in April talking about just how large the impact is.

Why is it so much now compared to in the past? Because the athletic department is thriving and has been able to put out a quality product that people want to see. This isn't revenue that the local businesses are entitled to just because LSU is having its best run in football probably ever over the past decade or so.

IF one neutral site game virtually every year is soooooo good for the AD...why not "sell" an additional game ? I think Vandy "sold" a FL home game to Jacksonville some years back.
IF, LSU can make more $, why not sell more games per year ? Seems like a great money-making idea....play only bama, ole ms, Ga,Fl etc. in Tiger Stadium and sell all the rest to Dallas,Houston,Atlanta, New Orleans etc. It's all about the $ is the argument here, isn't it ???

tickfawtiger, you are just mad because people don't want to buy the tickets you try and scalp. Less quality homes games = no money for you.

This would be a great question for the major sponsors that pay millions per year to LSU. Lots of those sponsors are local companies or have local offices/locations.

Nope....always get back at least what I paid for ANY tickets. I am concerned about how the home schedule has been significantly "down-graded" over the past several years. That is the subject at hand...or, are you happy with year after year of troys, sam Houston states, uab's et al ?????

If those sponsors aren't happy, they don't have to continue giving money to the AD. They could give it to the university instead.

Sponsoring the football team is the #1 product LSU has to offer as far as advertising. They're not just giving $ to LSU because they like us. This is an advertising investment, make no mistake.

I'm not saying you have to bow down to the sponsors, I just think it might be a consideration. Id be willing to bet some of the sponsors aren't thrilled with out of town games vs home games. (Again - not the end of the world but it is something to think about).

Then why not "sell" MORE games to neutral sites...be more like the domers and play all over the place every year ? With all the jack being made and all the recruits falling in love with us....the AD could reduce pricing on the few remaining home games. As an added bonus there would be far less wear/tear on the magnificent edifice, that is Tiger Stadium and the playing surface.
